From Europe? (Italy in particular)

different countries have different customs and different ways of paying waiters

i do 20 if good, 10 if awful, and 25 if amazing

Ya, I'm aware of different cultures have different ways, but do waiters in countries where there's no tips make more? Or is gratuity in the bill to begin with?

in italy u dont even have to tip at all, i was their 3 weeks ago. most people dont even tip 5 percent. they are proud of their job their, and dont think it is neccesary to get a tip for good service, because they were just doing their job

in england they usually include it in the bill and if not its 10% max so yeah thats probably right. europe is jsut funky like that

that's right. In the really touristy spots though, they think all north americans will tip though.. but in the rest of the country tipping is not expected at all

agreed, europe is funky like that. In slovakia, we simply tip by rounding up. I was home earlier this summer and I gave a (hot hot) hairdresser a 40% tip (it still ended up being like 3.50 USD total)and she was looking at me like I was from Mars. Same in bars...my friends couldn't believe I left like a dollar on a 4 dollar tab

yeah, i think in france, from what i remember, there was gratuity added to the tab...but yeah, people in europe take pride in their jobs...
