I liked that. I mean I guess you can send a message to people whenever but sometimes you would see that ___ is online and be like Hey, you have internet, thats cool.

Idk. I might be alone here but I liked that. I would be down to see that in some form.

If you look back in the beta testing thread you can see we initially had it still accessible in the header, but most of the testers felt it was useless and would prefer other icons.

Because this is a mobile-first design, you never had the friends list on mobile. We have to keep the numbers of things in the header limited so that its slick across all screens.

I think he means the "friends online" on desktop, above the members online list?

Yeah same answer though. It was moved into the header so we can start to get to something that is extremely mobile friendly.

The online list is something I'm not really sure how much relevance it will continue to have. I dunno... food for discussion.

Yeah it's all good.

Sometimes I'd see a friend that hadn't been on NS in a couple years and I'd be like "Holy shit you're back" Theyd be like "yeah"

And then we'd go skiing.

I liked the online friends thing in the sidebar as well. It's not a make or break feature but it was cool. Please don't take away the whole online side bar thing though. I like being able to see who's online, especially if you gotta ask a mod for a favor or something.

gotta say I really miss the friends online being where it used to be. Now whenever I'm on NS I feel like I'm the only one here, it made me feel like less of a loser when I saw how many other old friends were on as well. I don't want to have to click to see who's online, I just want it to be there at all times. Just my 2 cents, but as someone that's been around for awhile, I thought that was a really nice feature
