Hey NS,

As the snow this season is slowly accumulating, its always good to get your head thinking the right way and brush up on your avalanche skills. If you've never taken an avalanche safety course before, this is an awesome way to open your eyes to whats out there.

This Tuesday night (11/29) from 7-9:30PM, Friends of Berthoud Pass will be teaching a FREE avalanche safety clinic in HUMN 1B50 on the CU-Boulder Campus. In an informal classroom setting they provide backcountry travelers with an overview of avalanche awareness, avoidance, forecasting and rescue. Topics such as route selection, hazard minimization, best practices, preparedness and terrain analysis are covered in a 3-hour presentation. The class begins promptly at 7:00 p.m. and is open to the public and FREE of charge. No registration is required. Donations are gratefully accepted and benefits their grassroots avalanche education program.
