so yea.. my friend's father died in a freak accident while on vacation in Greece today. For sure I'm going to drive up to his place since he's alone over there until friday, but as for the rest I don't rally know what to do/say .. so I'm looking for some advices and all, thanks

what a morbid day on NS.

just say you're there for him. and tell him not to hesitate to talk to you if he needs to, or ask you for anything.

then leave it at that. if he wants to talk, he will.

one of my best friends died in a freak car accident.... i found that the best thing to do is just spend all the time you can with them doing whatever you can

don't let him hold it in. just let him pour his emotions out and just be there. good luck man, i wish him the best.

and i guess Greece would be the place to die. simply beautiful.

One of my good friends lost his dad in a car accident two years ago. Just be there for him man. It's a rough period and even rougher if you've gotta deal with it alone. Help him cope.

let them vent, listen to them, be there for them. see if you can get them out to do shit to help get their mind off it form time to time, but don't expect them to ever stop thinking about it. basically just be a good friend and let them do what they need.

tell him to express his emotions. the worst thing to do is keep them in.

i cried for like 3 hours the other day because i found out my mom has to go through chemo because she has cancer in her lymph nodes. since then i feel alot better.

yeah dude that shit sucks so much, just be there for him. One kid i knew just died recently. It was such a tradgedy, the kid had a great future infront of him. I know his brother fairly well, you just have to be there for them and tell them you care and stuff.

i'm not saying it makes the situation better, but i feel a little bit better inside.

if i ever lost my parents i dunno what i would do. give your friend our sympathy.

kinda of a coincidince my good friends dad died a little bit ago as well. really hard to see it affect a lot of people and very sad as well.
