ok, so news from today, i'm getting the number where i can reach him tomorrow. i'm gonna call him and what not see how he's doing, and the guy thats giving me the number said today that he talked to him yesterday. apparently he sounded well too.. he still cant move his legs, but he sounded good.
 
what the fuck is your problem?! we're talking about a guy getting paralyzed here. if you wanna call him an irrisponsible bastard, then fuck you. imagine your best friend getting paralyzed. how would you feel? get off this site and i hope you feel just awesome. venting.

i got an update, apparently he feels pins and needles in his legs... i was going to get a number to call him today, but the guy forgot to bring the number to the hill again... hopefully i'll get it tomorrow.
 
oh man that is terrible, ughh one of the things i never want to happen... I'm glad he has feeling in his legs.

I volunteer as a ski instructor teaching disabled people, I know the most amazing guy who messed himself up pretty bad skiing, now he is in a sitski, that dude is unstoppable. Btw sitskis cost upwards of 50K
 
i just found out that this guy i used to go to hs with fell out of his bunk in his dorm room sunday morning and is now paralyzed from the neck down, as in he has little control over his arms, none over his legs and cant really use his hands. i dont know what to feel about this, or what to do or anything.

just remember how precious life is and dont take anything for granted
 
man, i hope your friend is alright. ive heard of a realy good snowboarder get paralyzed at my mountain, it was pretty tragic jst hearing about it, and i dont know what i would do if i couldnt ski for the rest of my life
 
i feel horible for your buddy, and your having to experiance it, even worse being your buddy. i work at maple ski ridge, NY, some may know about this but a boy recently died at our mountain, its small and very friendly, so we were caught extremely off guard. i hope he gets better and i hope you get better too.
 
that probably means he will heal, because his nerve chord wasnt completely broken if he has feeling, there was probably some fluid or something swelling by it, causing it not to work. Think about when your hand falls asleep, or you get something nummed, and then you get pins and needles when it comes back, thats probably what he is feeling, just a thousand times worse because it was out longer
 
ok, so i got his number and called him on the weekend... he was pretty drugged up... so this is what he told me is that he cant move his legs still, he's already had 2 operations and has another one coming up... and what had happened is that the nerve was pinched, like saverely, that he wont walk again, but theres a chance he will... another thing is that he gets spasms in his legs so bad sometimes that its just intesly painful. but yah thats all i can really remember right now... a really cool thing we did for him is made a card with everyones hand print that works up the hill... and were gonna take a picture with every one holding it up and semd him a box of stuff, and i think i'm gonna throw in my GB colour with pokemon red.. and any other games i can find... i think he'll like it he was sounding bummed on the phone cause he hardly gets to go anywhere... and wow i was just announced that he's in the newspaper... so i might scan it into the computer and show you guys if you want...
 
damn that is so harsh. :-( best of luck to him! my friends dad got into a motorcycle accident and he was paralyzed from the waist down. the first time i saw him it brought tears to my eyes, he is an amazing person and it hurt so bad to see him in a position where has little to no control over his body. this was 6 years ago, and the recovery is going great. they told him he would never walk again, last ive heard he walked a mile with his walker. just encourage your friend, and pray for him i know i will and let him know he can overcome this if he puts his mind to it. best wishes to him his family, and anyone who knows hmi.
 
my prayers go out to him man, after reading that he could feel pins and needles i got very happy for him, and the fact that he can feel the spasms in his leg is good news too i guess because he can feel them, so my best wishes go out to him. i hope he will ski again

My buddy is paralyzed from the waist down, used to be more. He hit his head diving into a pool to save someone elses life.

He has not changed one bit since the event though.
