so i recieved word that a giant asteroid (2000km diameter) is going to pass by earth or even collide with us...scientists apparently narrowed down the path of this thing to 5000km. what this means is that it could completely miss us; it could graze our atmosphere and put on a ridiculous meteor shower lasting months; or it could hit us. the source is my former astronomy teacher who has connections with nasa on this kind of shit and is quite possibly one of the most intelligent people i know. but fucking scientists are crazy....narrowing the path of this thing to 5000km and calculating the precise day?? thats fucking nuts.......but has anyone else heard about this?
