yeah it's a whole different world skiing in the midwest. I grew up in WI, skiing Trollhaugen. I spent the last year living in Keystone and skiing Vail every weekend, and it's a totally different experience. The midwest does seem more laid back to me, and i still enjoy Trollhaugen and Wild Mountain, even after skiing for free all of last winter at Vail, Breck, Keystone, and ABasin. Sure those places have the terrain, but here in the midwest there is a hardcore kind of feel to it.

For example. At Vail you just get lost amongst all the awsome skiers and boarders, and all the parks and hits and cliffs to hit up. In the midwest, you and some friends find a fun jib or hit and session that same hit all week, because that's all there is. And that one hit is all you talk about. I dunno, its fun though, in a different way than out west.

Plus it hurts like a bitch to come down on blue ice hardpack from a cork.

 
only thing sick about the midwest is the skiers in it who ride some of the shittiest hills in the world. there are a few good places where you can find some nice hits and rails, thats about it. we learn in shit conditions on shit hills, then go out west and kill it. out west is sick

the midwest is core, and you don't need a mountain to have a good park. the only problem is that kids who grew up riding park can't ride big mountain very well. If anybody from the midwest wants to ride the best terrain around check out bohemia when it snows and marquette all the rest of the time, even when it snows.
