French Riots

I was completely with you till you said "revelotion"...sounds like some "extreme" moisturizer hahahha.

i also don't get this: what is up with saying "viva", which is either italian or spanish, and then saying "la révolution" which is french?

its VIVE LA RÉVOLUTION!

get it right.

"If hords of Mexican teenagers burn cars and schools and stuff, they are going to get shot."

Thank god for the second ammendment (seriously).

As for your next paragraph: I agree, Islamic nation's and their policies have failed to minimize the fundamentalist influences. The religion itself preaches peace and most of it's followers are peaceful.

What concerns me is that you compared Islam to Christianity and didn't balance your criticism by pointing out that Christian fundamentalists are eroding the foundations of our country and polarizing relationships between minorities in our country and between other nation's. I'm not making any statements on what you know, don't know, believe, or disbelieve--I just think you should address that :D

In regards to the Paris riots: I'm shamefully uninformed on them and am going to go read about it a bit. I've heard about it on the news over the past week, but haven't taken an interest...I've been sort of disillusioned with politics and social issues recently.

Regardless, it's an interesting situation to look at because of the similarity France and the U.S. have in terms of their demographics (i.e. quantity of "minorities"). Anyone remember the L.A. riots (I'm not sure how many of you were old enough to remember)? Very similar circumstances (not exact, but similar). A hate crime (and it was a crime) committed by the police, which shun light upon a subject few white people cared about and almost every black person (at the very least black people in L.A.) knew about. I don't think most of the people who rioted in L.A. were "fighting the good fight" intentionally (they were merely destroying shit), but their actions did reflect the sentiments of one of our nation's most important ethnic groups and they exposed a very ugly side to our country.

Some may have known the problem was there, but our conglomerate, white-male-owned media doesn't pay attention to things till they see dollar signs. Why would they? They're merely a business now, not an entity responsible for keeping the government in check, which by the way, is why the founding father's of this great nation established a free press. The media are no longer the so called "fourth branch" of government. Now THAT is sad.

Should be interesting to see how ethnic relations develop in the U.S. over the course of the next 30 years, as we continue to export our jobs (to other ethnicities), import our labor (again, other ethnicities), and ass-fuck 90% of the nation due to our enormously unfair concentration of influence.

I guarantee the U.S. government is paying very close attention to what's going on in Paris right now, if not for the sole reason that there will be monumental changes in the French federal government.

That's my two cents and I'm happy to discuss anything I said.

Word! :D

Why? Simply because we have ridiculously smaller amounts of illegal immigrants (pretty hard to get to Canada illegaly... since the only way is by the U.S), and the legal ones have to fill certain criteria, i.e not be criminals. Toronto is the most cosmopolite city in the world, and although I hate T.O (damn Maple Leafs), it's also one of the most prosperous.

As for France... it's a real problem. There are so many of them the police really can't do much. One thing's sure though; a curfew isn't going to do fuck all.

Yes, i do agree that fundamentalist Christians are really screwing up stuff in the US also, but we as a society still move on and make advancements to human society.

The only thing I really like about riots are the police in riot gear. They looks so hardcore with the black shields and little window and they all have their helmets. I'd pay big money for a riot gear set up.

word...

but you also orget that the French used to have a shitload of colonies in Africa..and that it's fairly easy to immigrate from one of those countries...
