the only french singing group i've ever really heard is Malajube. they're from Montreal. i enjoy them, they're closer to the rock genre then hip-hop if you were looking for more hip-hop stuff, but they're pretty good. also, i don't speak a word of french. lol.

Johnny Hallyday...the Frenchest of all rock'n'rollers, really famous in France. Also, listen to "Ca plane pour moi" by Plastic Bertrand. Manau for celtic rap. Cassius for electro-pop-house. Les Trois Accords for some weezer-like Quebec rock. Do a search on this, there are tons of threads.
