Freeze, Unfrozen!

although I really would like a more artistic ski mag, thats not what sells, what does sell is magazines like Transworld Snowboarding(which by the way is a terribly made magazine) But if you where to semi model your magazine after what they do then you would probably have a good selling mag.

 
sounds like a snowball job to me,,,,who is this Blaktout1?? We'll see what they can come up with. You need the FREEZE people. Sure starting a FREEZE like mag up sounds promising, but there are a lot more factors involved then meets the eye....we'll just see what they can put together.

 
itt was sick how freeze had the smackdown section,you should do something similar..like a Topic of the Month type of thing,like when u subscribe we'd give you our email,and you pick a certain amount of people to talk about the topic or question or whatever,and you take good responses,i dunno..maybe my idea sucks but its cool

Alright, here's my input on the situation...

The writing needs to be great. Freeze's writing was akin to that of a 12 year old. grammar errors everywhere and it just seems like it was all made in a drunken stupor with no proofreading or anything.

Variety of writers. I really would like to see a VERY wide variety or writers. Perhaps have the magazine setup with contacts at many different locales around the world. Maybe the photography wouldn't be as great in some of those more obscure locales, but the trade-off is tons of content.

Up to date news. I don't know how hard this would be to do, but try to have the content be as up-todate as possible. No two month old contest articles.

Length, overall I really just feel the length needs to increase. I know it costs more, but even if it was advertisements, it would be more appealing on the shelves if it was thicker.This would not only increase your purchases, but it would also increase you ad-profit, and in turn allow you to cover more content, which is the end goal.

But yeah, regardless of what it comes out as, I'd subscribe.

one thing that bugs me with all mags is the December issue can come in like start of October, I think a months issue should come out after the month was over, or at least during the month it belongs to, and have everything that went on that month and what happing next month. it nothing serious not like it changing mag content just a little word on the cover.

more gear would be cool. and i agree that it should be a little more serious, but not much. it would be cool laid back like freeze was...

I liked the 411 section in the back so that would be cool to keep that. Also, I think if there could be a resort profile or something like that where they interview locals, show some pics, and say something about it would be great. Maybe after the magazine gets started and everythings going good, I think it would be a good idea to compile a DVD once a year as a little recap or something. If I think of a title I will post again. Thanks for doing this too, i was very upset when I heard about it getting canceled.

i used to buy snowboarder magazines just cuz they were thick and they looked cool, i subscribed to freeze cuz i ski and it wuz a skiing mag.

i think if it were thicker it would appeal to more kids like i used to be.

cool. definitely ahve a bunch of long stories. short articles suck. adventure shit. like road trips with pros and stuff. nice long articles like in snowboard canada. half that magazine is filled with stories of tours filming and road trips. it makes for good reading and its not always just about the riders, they focus on the hills they go to.
