Freestyle skis : make a choice...

Hey everybody,

I'm planning to buy new park skis. I have PEs mounted with P10 (lifters...) but I find them a bit heavy. I tried my friend's TM(Belanger's Promodel), and I liked them.

I don't know which ski I must choose because I don't have a lot of money to spend.

For a good price, I can get :

- Dynastar TM (Phil Dion's promodel) 165cm

- K2 Fujative 159cm

My first choice will be between these 2 skis...

I'm 170cm and 61Kg. I want a quite soft and very light ski.

So here is the matter :

- TMs(Phil dion) are 3.25 Kg

- I don't know about Fujatives' weight... and I need your help. I gonna write an e-mail to K2 but if you got it : plz post it.

(Maybe I can get Duret Tricks Series which are lighter than these. It's a French "Unknown" brand, and I don't know much about them that's why I wrote to them and I'm waiting for an answer.)

But here it is... TMs(Phil dion)165cm Or Fujative 159cm?

which one is the lighter? the better for park?

Thanks

get the 175 tms if you center them, but the tms are way lighter and pretty soft, but next years of course

Yeah, I didn't really think about getting 159 fujatives... it's stupid. I'll see if I can get Duret Tricks series 170cm. It'll be perfect. But if I can't have these, I'll be buying Belangers or Dions (these are cheaper than regular TMs...)

Thanks guyz

remove the lifters and out them on 169 fugatives, you will notice a worl of difference in the weight of your skis

Hum, I got some new elements.

- TMs : Maybe I can get the 06/07s for a good price when "special offers" will start in september. They are better than the 05/06s because of the reinforced edges, I guess everybody agreed on this point.

Now if I buy TMs, should I get 165cm or 175cm ones? and please explain why?

I'm 170cm (5.6ft) and 61kg.

And also, is the "reinforced edges" in the middle of the base? because I want to mount them like -0.5cm or -1cm back from true center.

- Fujative : 169cm ones' weight is 3.4kg (which is between 165cm and 175cm TMs).

If I buy fujative, should I buy 05/06s or 06/07s?? I heard about problems with tip rivets on the new ones... I like both models' graphics and I could get them for the same price in a few months.

About both skis : which one is the softer?

I don't seek a too soft ski... I'm just wondering which one is softer but I think these 2 skis are really able to butter etc...

I don't want to get P.Belanger's Promodel because I heard that edges were not very good on past years Trouble Makers...

Hey,

I live in France so I'll get them on www.sport-conrad.de

"Special Offers" will start during september but they don't know what will be the price for TMs... I think it'll be something like 280€ or a less... There are good deals on this website!

So, alright, bad feedbacks about Duret Tricks series so those are out...

I wrote to K2 and according to them 169 fujatives are 3.4Kg/pair and according to Dynastar website, 175 TMs are 3.5Kg/pair. But I only hear things like "K2 is on the heavier side" or "TMs are lighter"... so I don't know what to think...

100 grams isn't a big deal, and when I skied TM (belanger pros mounted w/ P12 Jibs), I found them kinda light.

So do they really weight the same?

I can get 4Frnt STL 06, more expensive but they are mad light (2.7Kg/pair). but I heard they are really weak...

I'm not a crazy jibber, I spend most of my time jumping, but I want something which can hold up!

the problem with them was that the ink on the fiberglass did not promote the bond between topsheet and fiber glass the new ink has solved that problem and now they are much better

longer really does help with everything and its not much weight at all, if youre so worried aobut weight then get like stls or something mad light

and if u get invaders get 178 thell they will feel short becase a line measures wierd and b center mounting makes em feel shorter

At the moment, I think I gonna go with some 175 TMs 07.

But 169 Fujatives should be good too (+ cheaper)

STLs only come in 167 (last pair for cheap) and I don't know what to think about them... don't want spend extra money on a ski that will break (or delaminate) after few sessions...

And I live in France, and Line skis are so hard to find here...

Which one would you choose between 175 TMs (07) and 169 Fujatives (06)?

Once again : I'm 5.6ft (170cm) and 62kg.

Thinking of mounting them -2 or -3 from true center.

I'm getting them in like one or two month.

hum, what about MSPs?

Same weight as TMs or Fujatives but wider which that is to consider because I live in the French Alps and I also love skiing powder...

More expensive but it may worth it! I can't find 06 ones but 07 will be in shop soon. they come in 170cm.

What about their flex? and are they solid?

4Frnt skis sounds weak from what I heard and I live in Europe so I don't know much about their warrenty here... I also heard they have a "weak tail" or something like that... Do they fix all those problems?

Ok, and what do you think about TM vs Fujatives? also consider how they ride outside of the park.

When tried my friends TMs, I feel like they were "comfortable" on landings. I want a ski which is comfortable... When I ride my PEs, landings kinda feel harder. I think it comes from the flex.

At the moment, my choice would 175 TMs 06/07...
