FreeSkiing World Ranking (???)

Skiing needs a Season of Events to determine a World Champion (Much like ASP surfing). With Surfing the Top 45 surfers in the world are invited to compete in ASP events and the surfer with the most points at the end of the season Wins the World Title and ranked Number 1 in the world..

Why does Skiing not have something like this...It would boost the sport to another level..The outline is already there from the ASP, Just line up events around the world..That would give skiers something to shoot for ...Just seems like a no brainer

What do you think

Steele Spence is in charge of the AFP this year. Apparently they are making some big changes to have a system similar to the TTR for snowboarding. Sounds pretty legit.

I guess what I am getting at is: you dont hear that (Just and example) "Tanner Hall" is 7x World Champion, you only hear how many XGames medals he has won...But you do hear that Kelly Slater is 10x World Champion....the Title of WORLD Champion needs to hold weight

i like this idea for one reason:

no more kids trying to compare two skiers and every getting pissed off and blowing something completely irrelevant out of proportion. i don't really like it that much, but at least no one could argue over who is better (although they will) but at least this will cut it down

but they only judge comp reuslts ( am I correct), some skiers are not comp skiers and would rather film then do comps.

Also I could be wrong but how often do you hear about big mountain snowboards, I dont really ever but I hear alot about big mtn skiers.

I do agree a world champ would be dope insted of hearing about medals, but world ranking will not be able to judge two skiers apart in my mind.
