sliding urban ralis is exactly what these skis are designed and named to do. atomic incorporated its new RSR (rail slide reinforcement) technology into this ski. providing an inner edge to help protect and reinforce the outer edges. they also boast a ceramic base made with the hardest p-tex available for increased durability. according to our testers it was a "super buttery and palyful for rails, but way too soft for jumps and pipe" atomic created a pretty specific rail ski but sacrificed all mountain performance to do so

got it today. Just read thru it quickly...

and honestly, as with every other buyers guide...sort of sucks. Sorry freeskier...but a lot of the time it seems like you either didn't even ski the skis or forgot to take notes and wrote it as you went.

Either way, I never expect much, and I know it is hard to deliver, but as usual, I was far from impressed.

one thing i thougt was weird was for all the accessories, gloves packs etc, they have like 5 or 10 pictured on the page, but only review 1 or 2 of the items. almost like just looking through a catalogue, but i think a catalogue would be more descriptive. weird.

I skied the STH 16 all last season.. When I first saw the toe piece I was slightly skeptical as are you.. However.. I was quite satisfied with the binding.. I previously had a bunch of trouble staying in a Salomon binding but had ABSOLUTELY NO problems with this system.. I LOVE THIS BINDING.. It's super light and keeps you in.. If you're gonna say im biased because I'm involved with Salomon, ask a 4FRNT rider.. I know at least Mike Hornbeck and Wiley Miller used the STH 16 binding due to some issues with the 4FRNT bindings and they loved them as well..

i just got it im soo stoked cause i wasnt really thinkin about it at the time when i got it..yea im in MD

I read through it and it got boring after looking at it the first time. thats not how a mag should be.

They rated the T-Halls super low for some reason which seems stupid and probably biased.

Once again, to many ads with Peter Olenick ( at least 4 different ones)

They spent way to much time on the gear girl thing.

It's a gear guide. You can't honestly expect a high reread value. Also, it's a magazine, which means it only needs to entertain you for a month, because then you get another one. It's not like it only comes out once a year.

Perhaps they rated the T-Halls low because the teters didn't like them as much as other options available? Is that too hard to believe or something?

Post reply thought...

Overall, comparing this years gear guide to last years, Freeskier has stepped up the game BIGTIME as there are a lot more products being reviewed.

Were you not impressed with the gear/poster girl? If not.. you're crazy son! Chick is wayy fly. haha.

But yeah the reviews and content was lacking in areas.. plus I feel like the prices are way off. And whoever said the rossi steeze was sick must be nuts... Its quite the gender bender.

yeah i thought that to be really stupid. why wouldn't they just put down the MAP price? they have 750 for the il moros and everything just seems so expensive. when in reality its at least a hundred dollars cheaper

i got my october issue today. seems as if i've been looked over in regards to the gear guide. pretty much totally pissed off.
