Freeskier girls

I always ride with the guys and it really helps because they push and support me. They are reallllly nice & not ass holes to girls cause it's rad that we try.

I ride 178 05 skogen pro's and I am most likely getting the clebs if they aren't too soft. I think girls specific skis are cool.. except for the fact that they make them softer. I love teh graphics I have seen & it could be a cool idea if they just made different top sheets for some of the skis ( such as this years motherships.. what chick wants boobs on her skis?)

I'm a girl, I'm 16 and live in PA. I just started freeskiing this year...So far pretty much all I can do now is boxes and some rails. I usually ski with guys and I definently think that they push me and keep me motivated to try new things. I love skiing with them. And the fact that most of them are more advanced than I am makes me want to progress more and try new things which makes me a better skiier. My brother is the one who got me into it too, and I am so glad that he did. I love it! I ski on 151 salomon 1080's.

About making a girl specific ski I think it would be cool. I dont really need the really girly graphics either, I like the armada in hot pink and the rest of the ski in black idea... like he ^ ^ said our bodies are built differently and so it would give us girls..especailly the smaller chicks more too choose from. And if it would attract more girls into it then i think that would be awesome.

 
it's odd that yall find that girls skiing is so rare and amazing. most of the girls i know ski up here, which might be a cultural-related, whateva...personally, no boy or girl will ever influence what i do and how fast i learn something. i ski alone all the time and thet's when i get better. i see people bite it and break all kinds of bones because of mob-mentality shit where everyone's screaming at you to ' just do it!'...as for gender-specific skiis, that's all crap. and the designs for girls is cliche and mindless. i'm going to buy the best ski i can afford, period. plus i don't want some fucking hibiscus on my tele's. i won't buy them. i have last year's 168 scratch's and they're way better than any girl-specific ski i've ever demo'ed.

I've seen a few girls on twins but never any good. The only girls I've seen do slalom n shit I've fucked a couple snowboarder chicks though

so we're getting a girls ski? well i look at it as a good and a bad thing.. good. because im sure its going to be comming with features more developed for the typical female.. cant say exactly what the would be on said aramada skis... softer??smaller? etc.. im sure this is exactly what some girls need.

bad... because girls can find smaller softer skis already on the market.. why are we yet again distancing ourselves from the men. i used to be told to ride smaller skis because 'they're better for you' im 5'6 and i cant stand ridding small skis. i had 169 vinnie dorions and loved them until i actually tried a stiffer longer skis. and was blown away.

i dont think we should classify girls skis and guys skis.. thats just giving more room for excuses to be made about whatever (if you;re a girl you know thay you've made a few lies about why you cant hit that jump/rail with everyone.. we all have) besides if some girl is in need of a specific type of ski be it bigger smaller stiffer softer... they're already on the market, hence what you;d be ridding on already.. besides what are they really going to change so drastically that its best for women? the graphics??? PLEASE... most skis are bad enough already.. girls skis... not a big fan..

I don't ski much with boys..yet, i'm traying to do all kind of tricks, whatever i feel like doing or what i think looks cool, (but, i'm a really bad skier but i learning), Head mad-trix 163 cm, and i think girl skiis are good because it's often made for the one who are smaller! but i don't think they have to call it girls skiis and i don't like it when they have a girlie look!! that's silly!!

 
i only ski with guys. well sometimes i ski with the girls on my team. i ride public enemys and lava lamps.i ride alot of moguls and im in the park alot. if im not doin that then im making alot of turns. i love skiing with guys mainly cuz all my friends are guys and becasue thats what i grew up doin. they push me pretty hard to.

I have mixed feeling about having a ski for girls. I don't think girls need their own ski, but at the same time, it might get other girls more involved in the sport. I just wouldn't want a softer, flimsy ski. I've been skiing on 'guys skis' my entire life, so why start skiing on a girls ski now since I'm doing fine on what I have?

I agree that just the topsheet could be changed, because while the scratch and mo'ships are sick skis, I don't really want boobs on my skis. I think red, tourquoise, green, fuschia or other bright colours would be sick. Just no flowers or stupid pastel colours.

Also, since girls tend to be smaller, having a ski in the 160-170 range would be key. Maybe a 165 and a 170 or something.

skierclygrlie, JUST the topsheet is different on the K2's, i'm sayin OTHER girls skis on the market are generally noodles....and cravate had it right, if u want a ski for smaller lighter people go buy one, there's tons on the market, and most of u already ride tiny skis so theres not much else problem....if a girl's ski rides good, i'd ride it but i haven't ridden any girls skis ACTUALLY different from their male counterparts (sidecut, core etc.) that didn't suck, hopefully the armada's will prov eme wrong

Some of you say that there is no reason to make the girls skis softer or lighter, but just to make the graphics more girly. But, come on? Do you want to ride a ski with butterflies, fairy dust, and pink pink pink on them? I certainly would not. There really is no point in making girls skis.

i'm a girl.. i have 151 teneighties. I ride with guys and girls. i like going into the park with guys because they push me, and will keep encouraging me to do it.. telling me i can do it and such and its basically all mental so one you think you can do it, you can.

i really like skiing with guys b/c they're always pushing the sport and trying new things and they're just a lot of fun to ride with

i'm a girl too... i ride with mostly girls but i try to do tricks and stuff. I got the 360 this season. My grinds suck, but i'm improving

 
hey, i ski with guys and girls and they are both sweet to ride with. Im on 167 chronics, i can throw sevens, backs, fronts, and semicorked 5s. im not that good at rails, just flat bars, 270 and stuff. i wouldnt buy a womens ski, i bet they would be hella soft

im a girl skiing with guys practically all of the time. i cant throw much, 180s, just learned 360s, grabs. i can do most boxes and i still really suck rails. yes guys help alot. they push me to do tons of stuff i would have never tried this season. I LOVE SKIING

oh yeah, we forgot to mention liberty, liberty has a womens ski, and the graphics are uuuugly. exactly the kind of thing that is probably turning some off to the idea of a girls ski. just look at them ---------->

 
the thing about liberty is that all of their skis, not just the girls, pretty much suck period. it's a ski designed by a guy for women. that's how most of the womens skis on the market are. line and armada actually have awesome women team riders who are actively a part of the design process.

 
I'm a girly and ride 159 fujatives. now I can do most boxes and rails, and spins on medium sized tables. and yeah, I wouldn't have been able to do those things with out skiing with my brothers and advice from random strangers! I had the pleasure of meeting Ashley @ waterville yesterday, and she is dope. I think if more girls skied park, we'd learn from eachother and push eachother more. I donno about the other girls, but when I see another girl doing something, it makes me think I can do it. it's a lot different seeing a girl steezn it than a boy. and I'd buy an armada girl ski

I ride 150cm Line Mavericks

I think the idea of a girl specific ski is good, but only if it's geared to women in that the dynamics of the ski are more suited to our physique, not that they have pretty colours and flowers.

I like skiing with guys cause they push me to try shit whereas all the girls i ski with don't even want to hit the jumps at all.

i ride 159 public enemies. i ski with guys for the most part, they're jerks like, 70% of the time so it's hard to not feel self conscious around them when i'm skiing. i hit jumps and stuff but can't do much. on rails and boxes i always lean back and end up with a bruise somewhere. i think i'm scared of stuff because every first time iv'e done something it was a bad experience

I ride 167 chronics, ski with guys most of the time because they push me to do sicker things in the park and backcountry. I've really stepped it up this year with rails, jumps, ect.. and mostly hit everything I see now because the only way to learn is to do it. They've been helping me alot out with pipe lately too, its been cool. I only ski with a few girls, which only 2 of them really do newschool and freestyle skiing. So yepp...

umm... im a female snowboarder and this is my 1st yr of skiing like a lot and freestyle.. but while doing either i love riding with guys, im an instructor.. and theres nothing better than riding with the guys.. b/c they are the ones who help you out and teach u new things.. girls just dont push u to go bigger, a lot of girls are in snow sports for the wrong reasons and that pisses me off... err im not really good at all with skiing.. i just started landing 180s off our lame ohio tables but its a start and i love it... I'm gettin line shadows... possible the demo'd skis from a line sponsor.. some chick ealier said its gay that they are making woman specific skis b/c theres no need for flowered skis.. thats bullshit b/c the line celebrities and shadows have sick graphics and puttin girls twins on the market is gunna bring more opportunity for women's freestyle

 
i'm a girl that can spin more than a 3 and can slide rails. i ski on 155 troublemakers because i am short and they don't make many shorter freeride skis so i don't get that big of a selection when i'm choosing new skis. i don't need a women specific ski but i think it would be better to make shorter skis that weren't junior skis.

 
and with the whole womens specific twintips, I think its cool their doing that. It will probubly get more girls into freestyle & newschool skiing which is nice. But I'm worried it will evolve into something where their are more girls posing on twintips then actually ripping it up (as has already happened with snowboarding). Personally I'm probubly not going to end up getting a pair because I can do a nice 7 & ect... and hit rails with my wonderful chronics. But it all depends on taste of skis and skill level...
