Get green, make an iPad app that is free direct to the site... but allow for digital subscription straight to iPad, with extras. Video etc.

Also, more stories from more writers and no more annual resort, same old same old crap. Everyone knows how great Whistler and summit county are already.

anyways, I won;t get on my soapbox, I just really think that would be epic.
 
They do all of that once they get more money. But that won't happen until they are able to charge more for subscriptions and they can't do that til the quality of their publication increases and that probably won't happen haha

nobody has an ipad. i don't even use my touch anymore. i like having the actual print in my hands, its cool. no hate, it would be a good idea if more people had an ipad, or something..
 
Well that is you. I don;t have one either, but am getting one, and think it would be cool. How come the first instinct of people on the internet is to go straight to 'no for whatever reason'. I say 'yes, for whatever reason'.

fuck yeah. the resort guides are always super fucking lame - do more articles like the baker one from a season or two ago if you want to give us an idea of what a mountain is like.... not just a four sentence blurb full of the same shit written about the last resort on the list.

I miss Freeze so much everytime I open a new freeskier, hahaha.
 
It would be better to do a resort profile, talking about the perks & parks, other skiing areas, etc of certain resorts, rather than trying to compare oranges to apples in some ranking system. Every resort has its own special things, it'd be better just to highlight and focus on those, rather than rate one over the other.
 
uhh fuck i dont know anyone with an ipad or a iphone and only a couple people with touches. Personally i love having a magazine or dvd in my mailbox when i get home from something it bets the feeling of a itunes movie or article on the internet any day.
 
there's been studies proving that people actual favor the idea of holding print in their hand etc.

i will agree, freeskier would be wise to implement a few changes as their content is becoming less relevant in the digital news age and need more feature profiles

the women's issue this month was definitely a step in the right direction...

resort guides and buyer's guides stay in simply to keep magazines like freeskier alive... so much of ad revenue is based on those 'rankings'
 
More content is what I would ask for... with little correlation to the kinds of things you can find by going to a resorts website. I like when they do the town profile, where to eat, drink, sleep, etc. I want to read more stories, with all the crazy edits that have been happening the last few seasons, there have got to be some great stories to tell.

I am not sure why they would not want to create another revenue stream. transworld has apps for the apstore, it isn't a great one, but it is there. I don't think it would cost much, their website itself looks pretty costly, there is probably some pricey modules built in for video etc, so what is a few bucks more?
 
hahaha kid is complaining about an ipad app that doesn't work on his IPAD! if you're able to get very expensive and stupid electronics that close to their release dates, i can see why a stupid ass app would be such a problem to you.
 
i'm saying only privileged little dick heads like yourself with no problems are so bored that when a problem shows up (a stupid app), it's a huge deal to you. its a fucking app. be happy with what you have.
 
well that is uncalled for. I am not complaining about an app, I am saying it would be super neet to have a freeskier app, that you could subscribe digitally to without the need for a paper copy.

sorry your problems are so important that you are depressed and in need of a shovel and a shotgun. in that order.

i fucking hate posters now. i just put up the first one i got (casabon) and i can't even look at it. it just makes me want to ski so bad. its like its laughing at me. but its soo ill.
 
Because roughly a third of the world's literary content isn't even on the internet...

Print is still miles ahead of internet.
 
Maybe emailing Freeskier might be a little more effective then posting on ns...

What I meant to say, was that only ~1/3 of the world's literary content is on the internet. Most of the shit out there is printed, and the difference between the internet and print is that people actually invest something in print whereas a majority of the internet is useless garbage that appeals to people who are too stupid to read a book.

with that kind of logic NS couldn't exist because there would be nothing in the forums. IE: anything with the words full tilt, jiberish, or g suit.

Maybe I did send them an email, and they told me they wanted to see what NS thought.

I would rather have the mag. Pretty tough to put a picture on my wall with my Ipad which I also dont have.

I grew up tearing pages out of magazines. And I would like to keep doing that.
