Thoughts in general? Also want to know what people think of the post on the MSP? I want a fat ski that is mid 90s under foot...was set on the 180 MSP but not a great review??

 
they said the MSP was soft...i found that humorous

but they loved the Volkls so much cause Volkl kicks ass and are fuckin bombproof, well as are 4frnt's

fucking 4frnt 10 billion dollar skis. save your money and buy from a legit company, not a rip off couldn't think of their own idea steal everyone elses company.

 
I liked the review becuase it actually had some opinions. I can't say that i agree with them all, especially since you never know whos making the comments, but i thinkk different opinions are good.

I have never heard anything bad about Volkl...but hadn't (from a legit source) about 4frnt either until this. I guess they cannot say that every ski is great, would not be very credible.

 
4frnt MSP-

'The MSP, or Matt Sterbenz Pro Model, is typical of the new generation ski companies. It has killer graphics, is made by a company you're stoked to suport, and falls way to the soft-flexing end of the spectrum. The MSP's soft flex makes it easy to handle and light enough to be a true backcountry jib stick, but stronger skiers who wanted something to power through variable conditions, needed more ski than the MSP.'

4frnt STL-

'Steele Spence's new $frnt pro model is a park ski built with slopestyle riding in mind. Like its wider brother the MSP, the STL is soft and a little lifeless for the tastes of our bigger riders. But for those on the smaller side who are looking for a jib-only ski that's easy to support, you couldn;t ask for a better combo to represent than 4frnt and Steele. We'll just hope for a little more life out of this ski for next year'

I don't know who started it and I don't give a fuck. The one thing I do know is that we did it harder, we did it faster, and we definitely did it with more love, baby. You can't take that away from us
 
this just goes to show that you can never trust ski reviews EVER. everyone skis differently and looks for different things in a ski. you should never let anyone tell you how a ski is performance wise. everyone has different experiences with skis and will therefore expect and derive an assortment of conclusions from the way a ski rides.

there are two things you can do:

1) go demo the skis yourself and make your own decisions

2) quit wasting your time lollygagging around and buy some 4frnts and hate yourself for ever considering another ski in the first place.

Who knows who's writing these reviews, it could be a 185 pound x ski race who just likes stiffer skies.

i haven't received my issue yet, so I dont know how they tested these, but Transworld Snowboarder tests the best. all the boards they test are graphicless so really you cannot tell what you're riding, just the demensions, so you can really rid the review of biases in that way.

why would grafix matter atall in a ski test? no one in there right mind would take that into consideration. garentied everyone testing those skis were atleast 40, have beer bellies, wear sunglasses skiing yr round and smile constantly just like syincronized swimmers. take it how u like but id trust a ski review done by freeze over anyother mag out there.

^^ duuuuuude, geeze, graphics as in you know what ski you're testing, instead u get the ski, but its got an all white top sheet and an all black base. so frankly you really dont know what ski you're testing, you tell skis apart because of what your eye sees. yah

ok i haven't seen the mag yet but from the sounds of it im going to buy it...

we should give props to Freeskier for actually having an opinion most gear guides these days are mostly just free advertising for the major ski companies... they actually tested these skis... and they have some actual thoughts on em. have u ever looked at a snowboard gear guide... theyre the most useless POS out there.. no info whatsoever and no opinions either theyre so afraid of offending someone. as for the 40 y/o comment i seriously doubt that. maybe the ski just is soft... and maybe... YOU like a soft ski!!! nothing wrong with either things there...

 
I can see where that article is coming from, sort of....it is true that most of the park skis (scratches, 1080s, etc) are noodles (and I say this from having ridden them) but I cant say much about the newer companies because I've never touched em. Got a pair of armadas this year, guess I'll see how those do.

Freeskier and Volki are affilated though...that could be a reason they got such good reviews (from what people in here have said, i have not read the article)
