Freeride content appreciation

Just a massive shout out to all the people putting out the freeride videos at the moment. With the vast majority of content on this site being park and rail edits from the east coast or midwest, it is nice to see people hucking cliffs into sketchy run outs, throwing 3s and backies off natural hits and skiing some sick pillows.

We need more of this content, keep it up!

All mountain stuff is so much harder to film too so its great that its getting appreciation. I feel like most homies who rip around the whole mountain rarely want to film but are much more focused on skiing soft snow

Do you know where this was shot?

Yeah, the dude replied to someone asking that in the comments: "A handful of different resorts (Jackson, Revelstoke, Taos) and some backcountry"

I always feel bad asking homies to film stuff bc a lot of time it means they have got to give up some good skiing to get the clip

I’ve never been able to appreciate free ride edits as much as park because I don’t relate to it as much, but that being said I’ve found myself enjoying free ride more and more over the last few months.

This is a good point- the park is far more accessible than good freeride/natural terrain features. The number of variables is, by design, reduced- that makes progression easier and the learning curve significantly steeper.

taking on big mountain features in variable snow conditions is daunting. Compound that with more difficult access and the slower response for emergencies and you can easily see why fewer people are willing to step up to that challenge. I like to see a mix of park and natural terrain features whenever possible.

Same, also because the stuff im going to hit usually ends up looking disappointing on film.
