It was actually a snowmaking pipe, but still crazy for no warning or even letting him know he got banned. I’m at st sauveur rn and I don’t blame him for jibbing, there’s no rails or anything set up here

this reminds me, [tag=244295]@weastcoat[/tag] did anything ever happen to you for jibbing the 7S truck lmao

I did a wallride on a redbull truck at and even last winter and some security gard got mad so i disappeared in the croud lol

Damn that’s so fucked up. Free the boy, literally does no harm. Shady way to do it too.

At Killington preseason people jib the snowmaking pipe near the bottom of the lift like every year. It’s a bonus feature sometimes it literally has a lip.

The only thing I can think of it being an issue is if you somehow broke it and those hundreds if not thousands of pounds of pressure per square inch could seriously fuck someone up

Really hope people see this at the mtn and get confused af lol

Could be a whole lot worse. Local boarder at mission ridge got a lifetime ban for snapping a wooden handrail on one of the lift terminals, we’re talking nothing fancy, maybe $20 in lumber. To make shit even more over the top they sent cops to his house to intimidate him after he tried to go back. Gotta love eastern WA

Beech has a history of pipes bursting

Oh my god dude I remember seeing that. So awful. You could die so easily if that happened.

was quite an interesting day watching it live. weather was like -3 as well. before that incident i remember a pipe would burst 2-3 times a season weather a snowmobile backed into it, or someone skied into a valve. The next day after the chairlift incident the lift was incredibly frozen over

so one of the biggest threats to a ski area from a liability standpoint is significant injuries from man made objects. natural objects are seen as inherent risks and basically impossible to argue in court. snowmaking pipes, sheds, lift towers, buildings, etc. are all subject to much higher liability. with you posting the video (like a fuckin idiot lol) if they were to not act on it, then it would show a pattern of neglect as the did not address the issue and knowing would have aloud for this ‘hazard’ to occur. so when jerr bear is paralyzed from their inability to ski, they would have a much stronger case to obtain millions from the resort. now that they did suspend for a month and it is made very public that they did, they will have added protection in court. shoulda just not posted it lol.

I get all you said, i did a mistake thats 100% sure it’s true but they still haven’t informed me exactly what i did wrong (expect one homie patrol guy that told me "ur ban for the slide on these pipe cause they could explose lol dont do that"),i didn’t get a single warning either at the mtn or on line, nobody asked me to remove the clip, and not a single one of these "features" were close 48h after my clip yet i was banned for "my safety"

There’s a big lack of information respect and fairness here imo

Ps i know that these pipes were empty cause thats what you do where ur not making snow at the moment

pps they gave warning to a bunch of people the last few days (no one is banned)

just cause the pipes are not in use now doesn’t mean that its safe. if it were punctured the hazard would be once the system was charged. but if your ski was able to cause that damage then that pipe was way far gone anyway. the likelihood that your slide on them cause any damage to the integrity of the piping is extremely low lol.

i would presume they are much more worried about the potential of a ‘nuclear verdict’ claim if someone were to be injured by those pipes. juries are now awarding people astronomical amounts that have literally ended operations at some small resorts.

part of my role at the resort im at is to assess situations just like this and impose bans/punishment/etc. to show a pattern of reasonable measures taken for safety. i bet they have a copy of the video and are ready to say look, we took steps to prevent this injury. we ban this behavior in the past.

dont post yourself being an idiot if you want to continue to ski there lol.
