I dunno Tak, I think freedom and hope are quite inter-related but then again, are directly proportional. If you're a slave and have the hope that one day you'll be free, then that hope leads to freedom. When you are free you no longer hope to one day be released.

But I think that freedom is a very lightly used term that really doesn't cover it's definition very well. Freedom from what? What really is freedom? Freedom from oppresion and greed? Or freedom from yourself? Could go in a lot of different directions.

I disagree with that. I think it's all in your head. If you set aside things such as slavery, oppresion, things that make you actually not free and actually sit back and relax, look at it how it really is I think you can be truely free. I know from the way I see life that I'm always free. I've stood on mountains with my arms in the air holding a flag thinking damn, the only thing stopping me being truely free is that I'm wearing clothes. So I think you can be free if you're willing to let yourself.

when i think of freedom, i think of the people that i hear lecturing me about 'these soldiers gave their life for your freedom' and that just rings in my head.
