Agreed. Berman has had a tendency the last few years to make his movies so slick and clean that they're sometimes a bit un-fun. Freedle's cuts are laid-back, funny and more of what I like to see in a ski movie.
ive seen pretty much all his movies from the begining when he his movie sponsor was the stowe moving company. Special Forces, Proof, Contraband, all sick movies.
his old movies were fucking awesome. but, his new movies show the promise he has as a filmmaker when given responsibility for his own projects. its impossible to compare his movies to bermans though, because freedle has such a big hand in bermans full production
that may be true to a point. Freedle uses outright humor in his edits ex. "Orange Masters". Berman's might not be as outright funny, but they definitely show the fun aspects of skiing, take Steele's and Olenick's parts in High Five.
