has anyone tried on of these out (they're the longboards with 2 extra pivoting wheels inbetween the trucks, so that it rides like a snowboard on pavement.) cuz i'm thinking about getting one but i just wanted to know if its worth it of not

idk i longboarded last night for the first time in my life and it felt like the one time i tried snowboarding

don't buy it unless you have tons of hills around your house, and all you plan on doing is going down them. i actually talked via instant messanger to a guy on the team like three years ago, and he said that for anything other than going down hills the board isn't good. he said he would prefer his longboard over it almost every day beacause of the versatility of a longboard. he said that the freeboard is the closest thing to snowboarding he's ever tried, but that a longboard would best suit me, being that i have zero hills around. finally this christmas i bought a longboard, and it was definately one of the best decisions i've ever made. do yourself a favor and spend the $200 bucks on a good quality longboard.

they are really hard to learn but i hear that if you can learn how to ride them well they are really fun cuz the concept is Snowboarding on cement

i have one. i never use it too much work i got a longboard now which is way more fun.

yeah there was a big feature on freeboarding on episode 19 of that wicked skiing/snowboarding podcast: SNOWFIX.

they had kids hammering about san fransico on them, looked pretty sick!

i think you can download the show for free at www.snowfix.tv or subscribe to the podcast on iTunes?!?

I'd go with a reg longboard over a freeboard. You cant ride the freeboard on flats and they are very tricky to ride on hills. You have to be able to balance on the little middle wheels and adjust how much weight you put on the outside. Put a little too much weight on the outside and the wheels catch and send you for a tumble. Im a pretty coordinated person and have picked up almost all board sports quickly and i had a tough time with the freeboard.
