Freeboarding is amazing

there are actually 6 wheels, two wheels in the middle of each truck on a spindel type deal so they can spin a whole 360 degrees. they also hang down a bit lower so thats how you can power slide and butter like a snowboard.

Hmm, well, if I saw someone board down the street and then turn 180 by swiveling and not slowing down, I'd have to pick up my jaw from the pavement.

I'd probably have similar thoughts as people who saw skiers go switch the first time.

things are so gay. congrats with your purchase of a 200 dollar complete you get to buy new wheels about once or twice a month so have fun with that. you cant use them unless you have worthy hills. stoppings a bitch. the "tricks" you saw in the video are the only tricks you can do on them. Honestly huge waste of time go buy a real skateboard and learn how to land real skateboarding tricks. i hate kids at CU who are like yeah i skate and i'm like no way whats your setup and theyre like oh i got a loaded its dope. its like no you dont skate you ride a longboard to and from class. sorry you cant succeed at skating longboarders go eat one /rantand no hate on your purchase youll have fun but in my opinion its a waste

frends of mine picked these things up like 4 or 5 years ago when they first came out and I initially thought that as Im a longboarder, but its just an alternative to longboarding and oyu can slow down which in itself is worth it.

You're sheltered. If you slide a longboard sideways you can stop very efficiently. To the OP get a fucking longboard you can do the same shit with 4 wheels if you have the balls and skills.

ive ridden one, really fun for carving but i really dont see any point in just ollying over shit like they do in the video. it not like it would be very nice to land on because it has to be leaned over to one side or the other all of the time.

Lean back or forward. Apparently it's really easy to get tossed HARD on those things and a good way to kill yourself by cracking your dome on the pavement if you're too cool to rep a helmet.

Get a longboard some slide gloves and a helmet.

i skate and longboard a lot and this looks absolutely sick!it might just be me but it looks like some of the most fun you could have on a skateboard

btw for everyone still asking how this thing works, here is a video explaining freebords. (bord, not board)

i have one and enjoy it. great for real steep stuff. but the learning curve is kinda weird. takes a solid 5 or 6 days of hiking hills and riding down to carve a hill to top bottom. basically think of it as the snowboard learning curve and you got it right. hand slides and all that jazz will take a lot more than 5 days to get down tho. its mostly about committing to the slide and leaning into it. kinda scary tho at decent speeds.

last thing. you can catch your edges. and yes, when you catch em, you dont stop too. shit hurts

Haha. I laugh at your unnecessary hate. It is just a different sport. Why compare it? Skateboarding can be fun, longboarding can be fun, freebording can be fun. Why compare them and fight to the death trying to convince the other person that your sport is better? That is like fighting over religion...

my friend has one of those, it's much harder than they make it look, you'll fall on your ass many times.

dude trust me i skateboard. last year i was attemting a backflip out of a half-pipe (i know not the best idea but i thought i had it) and i broke my wrist, fuck insane. but yea i love skateboarding, i love snowboarding, so why not try to snowboard (freeboard) all season long. i could fucken freeboard to the skatepark and then skateboard with a real skateboard. my opinion this is something new that pretty much no one has heard of, and i would love to give it a try.
