Free running shoes

Ok so im joining the track team (i run the two mile) and I am running about 2-8 miles a day. I have been running barefoot most of the time, but im deciding to buy a pair of shoes and i'm liking the nike 2 3.0. Now I'm not sure about this and i did a little research about foot type, and i have normal feet. Would the free free run 2 3.0 be a good shoe for me, or should i not get them?

+k for help

these shoes just in case i wasn't clear-http://store.nike.com/us/en_us/product/free-run-2-id-running-shoe/?piid=22134#?pbid=1967583

i wouldn't recommend these for long distance running. they're great to work out in (and by that i mean like lifting and such at the gym) and wear around, but as for long distance i don't think they offer the support. i would say look into a pair of spikes or something from the nike lunar series. the LunarSpider R2, LunarRacer+ and LunarFly+ are the best IMO.

just my 2 cents. go with whatever feels right to you

^ ya should of seen that coming.... my bad didn't really proofread

you do know and expect very very little support from these shoes. if i were you i would find a good running shoe store. the can usually scan your foot to determine the best amount of support and shape.

Spikes? My teacher gave me spikes for free, but i thought those were just for the track... I mean like running around to train. P.S i mainly run on grass

ah alright. wasn't sure so was just throwing the idea out there. look into those lunars though, fantastic shoes.

If you are going for a minimalist type of shoe I would go with the Innov8 f235 or f195. I haven't used them myself, but I know tons of people who swear by them.

if you're used to running barefoot, look into some inov-8's

i have a pair for crossfit that i do my workouts in that dont involve heavy lifting and i love em. they're really light weight and have very minimal heel drop along with a really firm and stable sole. a lot of people use them when they run marathons, tough mudders, and go ruck challenges.

if you want anymore info pm me and i'll get ya more information.

I absolutely hate the frees, i ran in them for a season and got injured and now just have them as a walking around shoe, but i would no reccommend running in them. If you really want to strengthen your foot then keep up with the barefoot stuff but get a more reliable trainer. Another thing is that they arent durable to any extent. They tear apart and lose form very easily.

what about those foot glove things they are selling now? I dunno how they are for running but I have heard a lot of good things about them...
