As most of NS loves marijuana I hope some of you have heard of the plight of Marc Emery. A successful Canadian business man running a perfectly legal business in his home country is being extradited to the US because the DEA has a agenda.

Anyway, this weekend there are going to be some rallies across major Canadian and US cities in his support. I figured I should get the word out and maybe it'll boost the rally's numbers.

garbage, emery is an idiot who spreads just as much garbage as the dea and other such people but theres no way in hell canada should of spread their ass cheeks for the muricans
 
I don't know shit about legal issues but who does the DEA think they are, extraditing someone from another country?
 
the DEA probably is working under the assumption that they are an extremely large, government funded branch of law enforcement. Emery ran a business where he sold seeds, and a large number of those seeds came to America and i guess they were working with that.
 
good fuck him- if your going to do shit that will get you into trouble- you deserve what you get- did he really think that after all those years someone wasn't going to get to him?- im all for smoking- but if your going to be a bitch about it for getting caught( or in his case- extradited) then you deserve it

and please dont try to say well its legal in CAN- he was selling to the us- who are bfffs with the canadiens- did he really think they werent going to extradite his ass- should have based his company in switzerland then
 
some guns get sold from the us (where they are legal models being sold) and get sold to cananda (where they are not legal).

you don't see canada going after the makers and distributors of those guns and bringing them back to canada for trial.

yeah well the DEA is badass, no matter what the angry stoners say. They'll be real assholes to you if you're on the wrong side of the law and quite frankly, dude deserves it.

I WILL say what he did was legal in Canada because it is all you need to know. Doesn't matter if he broke US laws, he was doing it from CANADA. He was safe here until we bent over and took it in the ass from the US. The only reason we are giving him up is because we have a PM who still believes Christian family values should dominate everyones life.
If you are all for smoking and still think he should be going to jail, you are a hypocrite and coward. He is raising awareness for an important issue regarding personal liberty.

DEA can claim they finally got a big name person.

Emery gets to be on the news, raise awareness worldwide, and become more famous.

I could care less what they do to him. I suppose he knew the risks he took. Doesn't matter where you are, if you are doing something illegal within the boundaries of another country, they will get you. Even if you yourself are not in that country.

Does anything ever get done by sitting around on your ass and complaining about things? NO. I think this is a good cause. Whether effective or not, it sends out a good, positive message. I will try to make the Denver one.

So, in conclusion, to all of NSG thinking/saying things like "fuck emery", "he deserved what he got" and "i don't care what happens to him".

All the time on NS I see "legalize weed" threads, or something to that degree. And now it comes to keeping Marc Emery, a huge proponent of the movement to end prohibition of weed, out of the hands of the US justice system and out of prison, and I read "He broke the law, he deserves it." Isn't that what is under constant fire here on NS? How stupid those laws are that he broke? NS I do not understand you.
 
do you realize that there are more than like 5 people on ns? some people like weed, others dont, some people think those laws are stupid, others think theyre legit. thats all there is to it
 
Way to go Canada, extradite your own citizen for something totally legal in Canada done entirely in Canada.

Way to go America, taking a nonviolent stoner from another country and throwing him in prison with all the gangsters, rapists, murderers and other real criminals for selling some little fucking seeds for a legitimate business in Canada.
 
Doesn't matter. If it's illegal in the United States, they can extradite him. He committed a crime and now he's going to pay for it. His dance-card is going to be filled every night.

Ever heard of Roman Polanski? He raped an under age girl IN THE USA (real crime) and ran away to France where he lived for many years. You never saw France give him up because they have balls and stand up for what they think is right. Canada should do the same, Emery didn't hurt anyone.
