Holy f, they use magnets?? Well how did no one else ever think of using magnets to generate electricity? All this time... magnets....
A simple analogy of why magnets (or anything, for that matter) don't facilitate perpetual motion aka over unity.
Imagine you have a ramp of wood with a hole close to the top and a magnet at the very top. The hole would funnel a magnetized ball back to the bottom at the front of the wedge where it could then be pulled up again. So you set this up and finally place the little magnetized ball at the bottom. Presto! Perpetual motion. The ball gets pulled up the ramp/wedge and falls into the hole as its being pulled up, rolling back down to the bottom again all to do it over and over again.... Well this is essentially the claim being made by Lutec (who if you do a little more research is the company featured in that great video. aside: Go to their website and see how legit they really look.)
The problem, however, being that if a magnet is pulling this ball up the ramp toward the hole the ball would not fall down into the hole but keep getting pulled toward the magnet. If you don't understand why this is, then you should never, ever be discussing anything physics to begin with.
Now you can spin this any way you want, add to it, tweak it, expand it, and its been tried, and it will never ever work. And it has been tried, time and time again. The only way it could work is if you add more energy to it somehow. Ie: Reverse the polarity of the magnet at the right time, move the magnet higher at the right time... This takes energy: And in order for it to be over unity/perpetual, that energy would have to have come, somehow from that system itself, which already doesn't have enough energy to perpetuate itself.
So please, quit f ing believing in this. Typing this out makes me a little mad for the mere fact that I have to do it and someone will still go "well you just don't understand it so you say it's impossible." When in actuality, you just don't understand it so you think it is.
