Does any one know any free antivirus programs? I just reformatted an old computer and i want to use it for k-lite, but i also want a anti-virus on it to somewhat protect it. I've never bought one, they always come installed on the computer. I want one that's completely free though.

spend the god damn money and get nortan 04

Girl: Did you get it?

Boy: Hold on. I'm looking.

Girl: That was me back in may

Girl: I've lost weight since then.

Boy: I hope so

Girl: what?!?

Usually I would say go for the free stuff, but in this case Norton 2004 is pretty good, worth the $39

better to burn out...

...then fade away

holy shit holy shit holy shit!!!!!

you people have it all wrong! Maximum PC magizine, a very highly respected mag, gave a fre anti virus program a better review then norton or mcafee. the free one got a 9/10, norton got a 7/10 and mcafee got a 6/10. that free one is AVG anti-Virus. i use it on my 4 pcs and it is great! they also have virus updates about once a week. get avg here!!!

Norton is the most bloated POS software ever made. Do like jaross said and download the free version of AVG. It is updated at least once a week, uses minimal system resources, and it just great. I've been using it for the past 3 or 4 years and have not once had a virus, its good stuff. Be sure to use SpyBot and AdAware along with it to keep your comp running good.

And if you want/need a firewall Kerio and Panda are both awesome. Again, Nortons is a resource hog, it does its job but at the exspense of making your computer a slow POS.

AVG kicks ass.
