HOW FREAKY IS THIS?

Look closely at tile A and B. They seem to be different shades of gray. They are actually the same exact shade.

Don't believe it? Try opening up the image in Paint or another image editor and put the 2 tiles side by side.

amazing. it doesn't seem possible. but it's true.

The dark 'B' causes your brain to look for the lightness in that square, along with dark surrounding squares. A contrast.. the same way framing around a picture affects how you see the photo itself (causes emphasis on certain colors)

I'm sure the 3d plane and shadow has something to do with it too.. not certain what.

but wait, how come the surrounding tiles arnt affected with thie shadow? I.e the ones around B. surely if B is 'transformed' then so should the others?!

that's awesome shit. you look at it and it seems there is no way in hell that they are the same. we've been looking at stuff like this in psych but I never saw one that was this convincing.

i don't get it. I open paint and put the tiles next to eachother and they look soooooooo different but then i use the eyedropper to get the color from one and when i write on the other it doesnt show up. So theyre the same. It doesnt make sense.

okay, i just gotta say...please stop making the FARP video things. Its cool if you wanna make them and all, but dont make a website about it etc. Or at least get better first. they also trick you with the color of the letters 'a' and 'b' to make one seem more light and the other seem more dark neat stuff

you can see it easily if you cover all the other squares with your hands. You'll see that they're the exact same shade, as well as the square below and to the right of square B. It's an optical illusion. Using a Black B makes that square look brighter than square A which has a light colored A. Also, the surrounding squares are complimentary to this effect. Lastly, the shade provided by the green cylinder allows the effect to take place.
