Anyone here in a frat? If so which one. And ladies what do you think about frats?

I'm a second semester freshman. When I originally got to college I told myself "I don't need a frat. I'm not going to buy my friends." But this semester I rushed 2 frats, and now I'm a pledge at Delta Tau Delta. Frats really have a lot to offer besides friends.

The Alumni backing of this frat is rediculous. They help the brothers out so much. Really a great way to make a lot of connections. My one friend from highschool who is a brother, told me than an alumni even bailed a brother out of jail last year, who got caught with an underage at his friend's house.

Not to mention the parties are awesome too. I don't know what it is... haha girls love frat guys. I have been to their parties before and there are nothing but smoking hot girls.

Going through my first semester I really learned that these fraternities are more than just paying money for friends in college. These guys are still really close many years after college. And previous brothers can really help you out with things like copies of exams.

Frats aren't for everyone, and each one is different. But I guess it's something to think about.
 
#1 man, don't call your fraternity at frat, its like calling you country a cunt.

#2 keep with it no matter what. I pledged last semester and it was one of the best decisions ive ever made. Your most likely gonna have to work your ass off but its worth it.

i never liked the idea of frats. but there are some cool guys in there, so i guess it just depends on the frat itself and the type of person you are.

I'm in a fraternity at UBC in canada, and its good times for sure. There are drawbacks or whatever, and its not for everyone, but don't let anyone else preach to you about whether it's worth it or not. Make your own decision, if you don't, its the wrong one.
 
I am hoping for my metamorphosis into the frat boy in college next year. I will then be able to pump creatine, sit around watching football and drinking beer, and checking out the asses of the local sorority chicks. What a life to live.
 
basically people in frats have sex with sheep. Once you fuck a sheep you're in and you get all the sweet connections for after college. Other than that they're pretty retarded. Paying lots of money to live in a shitty house (depending on the last time a rich member donated money) and fuck ugly sorority girls wearing UGG boots and north face coats.
 
yea im seriously considering pledging this semester...bids are in like 2 weeks and its a gametime decision because of my grades but Im thinkin I'll pledge. Me and like my 8 closest friends are all going to pledge together, so its totally not "buying friends" its more so unifyign and partyign with the kids I like and getting laid by the hottest girls. I would def suggest it, as long as its a money frat what do you have to lose?
 
uuh, i dont know about your fucked up fraternities, but

a) you dont have to live in the fraternity's house.

b) sorority girls are hot, except for the token fat bitch, who it seems you got with

c) this is directed at someone else - what else is there to think about other than drinking and sex...oh, and skiing...

d) michigan sucks
 
Never joined, had a couple of friends in a few. Still had plenty of action and had way too many party nights in a house full of scatter. Each school is diff. so take the time to check out other clubs that might really help you out. Wakeboard club, outdoors club, professional frat, ect. Think about the $$ you spend too. That could be a airplane ticket somewhere good or even a season pass..... But if you do join, good luck!
