Imagine paying thousands of dollars a year, ripping it off daddy’s checking account, just for “friends” and to herd women in cause you can’t do it on your own. Frat kids are the cloutchasers of skiing they hold a lot in common

-no style

-basic ass clothing

-basic ass haircuts

-just overall dickheads

-financially coddled by parents-thrive off validation they so heavily seek from others

Don’t get me wrong partying is super fun but the fact that people create some kind of cult only rich kids can get in, just to live in its culture and breathe it doesn’t sit right with me.

While that's a pretty glaring generalization, what isnt is that frats are literally parents paying for friends and connections for dogshit internships at the hedge fund until you get tossed into the street after getting coffee for 6 months and with nothing to show for it.

Listen. All I'm sayin is that if you go to school and you don't take every opportunity you can to network, you're wasting your time, especially if your major isn't a hard science.

Whole lotta sour grapes in this thread, discounting entire ass groups of people thinkin you're somehow superior for not joining their groups when you don't even cross their minds in the first place.

Because I use to be the guy who thought he was too cool for these sort of things much like people in this thread, then I learned how naive it was to discount it completely. Sure, kids participating in greek life could be insufferable sometimes but if you think there's no value to it you'd be mistaken. It's not what you know, it's who you know.

I feel like I was able to make a lot of good connections without having to pay an extra 3k a year and deal with insufferable people. But who knows maybe I missed out.

Most people do alright without joining a frat/sorority. By no means is it a requirement, but the circle jerk acting like there's no benefits is hilarious. Same mf's who think not going to prom is a personality trait.

Not saying there aren't benefits, but life is a series of cost/benefit choices. In my view of Frats, the costs do not outweigh the benefits.
 
isn’t it funny that almost every frat boy was a “popular athletic” kid in high school? EVERY douchey lacrosse kid i know from my high school is in a frat, so are most football and hockey kids. They’re all so cringe and don’t know it.

man, they may have big egos sometimes but for the most part they're just kids trynna do their best like everyone else. I felt the same exact way in highschool, but I realized that the more I tried to justify that everyone else are assholes the more I realized I was just being the asshole by not giving them a chance. Idk as a kid when I got some self confidence and started treating dudes like people instead of jock trash I got along much better with everyone

The way the US does major collegiate sports is a waste imo. Don't know why colleges gotta be farm teams for professional athletics. Sports in general are good though.
