OK so im writing my final paper on Frankenstein and the motif of light and how it represents knowledge. Also, how Shelley is commenting on how the excess of knowledge is bad.
ANYTHING HELPSmy papers due in two hours and i really need help (ive only written three hundred words and it need to be five pages) Im having the worst writers block ive ever experienced.I know i should have written it earlier but please help me if you have written a paper on this before. Thanks ns

The excess of knowledge is bad in that the creation of the monster was negative. Frankenstein knows almost too much to the point where he can create human life. I'm not really sure about the motif of life thing, sorry man hope I helped a little.

"The storm, symbolizing science, can enlighten and darken as well. Victor thought his creation would be a scientific break through. The 'light' was hurting the monster; the monster was experiencing pain from knowledge. Both the monster and Victor notice the dual possibilities of light. Victor struggles throughout the novel to find a balance between a safe level of knowledge and the dangers from acquiring excess. When the monster was meandering through the woods in hope of finding a means of being heated, he once again was faced with opposite effects one cause could produce. And just as it is pleasantly warm at moderate levels, it ignites dangerous flames at higher ones. The monster initially discovers the broad possibilities of light upon his creation. The light burned him, but he found that it was beneficial as well as possibly dangerous. d as means to pursue his study of knowledge. Victor begins to see that there are two sides to light; it can illuminate or it can burn. The light, which had once only been beneficial, is now causing negative consequences. Victor does not notice this comparison this early on, but when he creates the monster, he curses the day the monster saw light."
Hope it helps!

if it helps at all i would comment on how the "excess of knowledge" isn't necessarily bad, its how we use the knowledge we have obtained in our lives. feel free to just go off on some rant about good and evil choices too, which is what frankenstein is really all about
