Francophobe Racism on NS

Wow. I love how my karma was just dropped for calling the OP out on his "racist" comment.

I in no way support bigotry of any sort, and actively try to do my best to call people out for being ignorant of things such as race, sex (little kids being belligerently sexist to the very very few female members of NS), homosexuality v.s. heterosexuality, environmental issues, political issues etc.

Xaiver and Kevin kill it and I fully support them. End of story. I have never once seen anyone saying anything inflammatory towards them because of their nationality, and I can assure you that I would have called them out on it if I had.

I just find it absurd that the OP (or whomever else it was) gave me -k for calling him out on such an absurd thing.

i didn't. i couldn't care less about NS karma.

i think we've moved past the definition of racism but if you wanna keep making that point then be my guest. francophobia, xenophobia, close-mindedness, racism, ignorance, whatever i don't really give a fuck. if you haven't noticed it on NS you're blind, and it isn't cool.

this time for your benefit, and for the second or third time, i'll acknowledge that racism was not the appropriate term. why not add something worthwhile to the debate, rather than continue to nitpick over the phrasing of the OP like some kind of pedantic parrot, where others have already done exactly that.

so, with that in mind, anything to add?

What I' gathering from this post is that you claim to "not really give a fuck" about what NS says/thinks of you and your thread. However, you seem to care about what NS says about two French skiers.

Now, most of NS's member base is from North America, with the majority being American (I can't imagine Canada being too far behind). Wouldn't Americans favor their athletes over France's? Just as Canadians would favor Canadians over French athletes. When it comes down to it, Europe is the minority in those competitions. Being from North America, I'm going to root for a North American over a Euro. Simple as that man. There's definitely some patriotism involved. My recommendation to you is to leave the thread. You lost the battle, OP.

i really dont like all the hate on Kevin. hes such i nice chill dude is so stoked just to be out there skiing. hes one of my favorite skiers out there

so you are trying to stop this "racism" and yet you are calling people "hillbillies" that dont know anything outside of "Amurkah"

not saying its cool to hate but why dont you check yourself too.

i don't follow a lot of webisode things, but besides TC, chug life and the obvious beauty of the nimbus webisodes, followust.tv is definately ranked highly for me!
big up for kev and xavier, repping the euros at the US x-games !

US Americans have always made fun of the French and the Europeans in general. Don't worry, though. The feeling is mutual.

And I didn't mean this in a mean way. Stereotypes, taken lightly, are more amusing than harmful.

stop being a pussy. everyone gets hated on at some point, you're literally being a classic stereotypical french person by bitching more about it than everyone else. if you're really that pissed go flip a car over and set it on fire, that seems to be how the french get things done when they have a problem.

xgames week is the pay your age day of newschoolers.
i hate watching pipe skiing for the most part, but those guys kill it

haha, francophobe. still gets a chuckle every time. keep posting in this so it shows up in my threads at least daily.

It probably doesn't have anything to do with them being French. Candide is probably the most respected skier on this site. Probably has more to do with them fitting the "pipe jock" stereotype.

this is ridiculous

but while were at it i really think everyone should stop being racist against Simon Dumont

maybe if they start taking showers i'll stop making fun of them. France can go fuck itself with a figurative knife-dildo for all i care.

There's hate on NS since the beginning of ski and no-one will escape from it. That being said, the real is : Is there more hate on french people ? I would say yes. I'm french candian and I've compete in USA for the past couple of years. I could tell that there's a sort of misplaced patriotism ( if I can call it like that) that make the americans see your name and down rate you even if you have the best run on the camp. It's not just the judges than the skiers who ear you having a hard time finding a word in english and laugh at you. Maybe it's gonna be the eternal war against french-englsih like skiers-snowboarders.

If this thread continues like this, I will come tomorrow and see 2 pages of "skiers" that can't even do a sw 7, talking shit on me. I don't care, I won't even reply. I've met americans skiers in Colorado who didn't even knew there was french people in America. So before talking shit educate yourself a bit.

Dude, if someone is a little different than the rest of the general population, and on top of that he is the best at what he does, he is going to get hated.

STOP LETTING THE HATE BOTHER YOU. FUCK THE HATERS. THERE ARE 100K+ MEMBERS ON THIS SITE. NOT EVERYONE IS GOING TO LIKE/LOVE EVERYTHING OR EVERYONE.

These threads are fucking stupid and useless

Being French, I take offense to Canucks thinking they have it hard just because they speak French, plus their accent is bad.
