Fractured Thumb

I dislocated the bone that connects my palm to my thumb. they said its definatly dislocated with a possible small fracture that they cants completly make out. so now I have to go to an orthopedic doctor for xrays. doctors say 1 to 4 weeks if its dislocated and 4 to 6 if its fractured. Now we all know that Im not waiting that long in the prime of the ski season so how long did it take your thumb be good enough to ski?

haha bro. i want to go skiing so bad but I need to show something to my mom something saying that it heals quickly. shes making me stay home and not do shit. i want to go skiing

i ripped both tendons and dislocated my thumb, went skiing that night....dont be a pussy and ski!

thats a bitch. i broke my hand in a bar fight my last night in college-saturday. i got home on sunday and told my parents thinking theyd be disapointed. THe first thing out of my dads mouth was "you think you can fit a mitt over it? cause we should go to tahoe on tuesday"

thats dope dude. my moms not like that at all. im gonna try and ski friday cuz tht will have been a week and my mom wont be able to say shit

If you get one of those metal braces that go on your thumb and you put down your poles im sure you could be skiing without any problems

yea the doctor gave me a brace. i got these huge mittens so ill rock those. i hate not using poles but whatever gets me out there

im skiing with 2 broke thumbs right now its fine and i have comps for the next 3 weekends . you will be good as soon as u go in the doc will say dont ski but FUCK that

yea im just gonna ride mellow for a couple days, do like 3s and 5s, stuff that i land no problem. Im at my dads house this weekend and he already said I could ski. i think ill be good

I've been wearing my brace under my glove for about 4 weeks now. It helps a lot and keeps me from progressing the injury. I'm almost to the point where I can lift weights again 100%. Just no bench press or anything pushing directly on the palm.

I broke the growth plate in my wrist the day after Christmas and skied as soon as it wasnt sore to hurt when i moved my arm around. I had a cast on so i went with no poles for the first weekend then just kinda barely held my poles for the rest of the time. I just got my cast off this past Friday.

ski with no poles and dont go hard. i somehow smashed my pinky with my skis on a jump on the weekend and it hurts real bad but im still skiing through it, just do tricks where you know you won't fall

if you had read you would of noticed I already said I wasnt using poles and was going skiing. poles are so useful for skiing btw bro

i broke my thumb last monday i have skied 2 pow days and a park day since and now i dont even wear the splint thing they gave me anymore i can pretty much grab a pole after a week

but it sucks riding knowing you cant put your hand down without potentially fuckin your shit worse

this, it sucks knowing that you could permanently fuck your shit up for the rest of your life. Make sure you are careful and dont get too confident with it. Trust me, your thumb will let you know how hard you can push it. Dont try and save a fall, just tuck and roll

yea but its a little hard to do. first instinct is to break your fall but im definatly gonna try to roll out. yea it blows skiing knowing if u fall on its gonna break even more but its all good

yea they do bro at least i can still ski i just cant go nuts for lik a week or so but its good im just pumped to get back on snow after a week of being out. my doc wants me to stay out till monday but fuck it im skiing!!
