Fractured Radius

Recently flew over my bars biking last week and caved in and got an X-Ray and found out I have a fractured radius in my arm near the top near my elbow.. I had the option to have a cast or splint but decided against it because it wasn't necessary and is my dominant hand..

Apparently it's a pretty common injury (apparently 70% of bone breaks according to google) and was wondering what the real turn around time is...I've heard from 1 month -6 months depending on severity..

Also what did you do stay active/exercise which didn't put pressure on the fracture?

i broke mine pretty bad playing football a few years ago it was probably around this time of year and i skied that whole winter, so maybe 3 to 4 months?

Wow, i got the EXACT same injury a couple weeks ago. Flew over the bars of my bike, ate shit on a flight of stairs, fractured radius near my elbow. Went without a sling for a day, sucked incredibly. Got a sling, had it on for two weeks and now im fine. Doctor said depending on how bad the fracture is it could take 4-6 weeks to heal but its only been 2 and a half and im at least. Long story short, splints/slings suck, but make recovery time way shorter.

My doc fucked up my cast on the first visit. It healed incorrectly so they had to re-break it and set it again. All in all took about 2 and a half months.

When I first read this I generally thought you had broken this, and was wondering how that would be possible:

What is wrong with me.
