As I was browsing the internet trying to find instructions on adjusting the forward pressure, I found a website that explains in great detail how to mount bindings and then adjust the forward flex and the din. http://www.forskiers.com/articles/8.asp

It has everything you need to know about mounting bindings and all you'll need after it before you hit the slopes is a nice tune up.

Oh, for fuck's sake...Please, don't do this. Just, don't.

Masking tape on a drill bit? MASKING TAPE? "Try to keep the drill bit as straight as possible"? And what, are you just more or less supposed to GUESS where to put your heelpiece.

NO NO NO NO NO. Please, either you find your own binding jig, or just show up to your shop with a case of beer.

looks somewhat sketch... somewhat is an understatement. i think ill leave my altogether too expensive skis and bindings in the hands of the pros.

DO NOT TRY AND MOUNT YOUR SKIS YOURSELF AT HOME.

EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER

problem is, most people dont know how to use a drill and you only get to fuck up once. ive seen too many skis brought back needing fixing and remounting cos someon tried to save a few bucks. unless ur sure, leave it to someone with the tools or the knowhow

I'm not mounting my own skis i just thought some of you would want to see how its done. IT also shows how to adjust forward pressure and many questions about that have been asked lately.

I've mounted all my skis, it's really easy. And I use the masking tape method to make sure I don't drill to far into the ski.

well said.. but even i(been mounting skis in a shop for over 6years) read the manual on the newer bindings because things change (usually for the good) and its nice to be refreshed when it comes time to mounting.

Ive mounted my looks using a cardboard template, a drill bit the correct diameter and a depth stop for correct drill depth.. so who ever wrote that "DONT EVER... blah blah blah" stop... People only void their warrenty and could hurt themselves, and sometimes saving 30$ is really needed....

interesting to know, but dont do it. I work around ski mechanics at my job and theres a little process with fine tuned machinery that gets it precise, so you dont fall and make your leg into a bone puzzel

unless you already know what your doing, in which case you didn't nee to read that, get a good tech to mount your skis. Not only do you need to get them mounted properly length-wise but side to side aswell, thats why techs use jigs. If you buy your skis at the shop they are getting mounted at they should mount them at no charge.. I fucking hate when a shop tries to get an extra 30 bucks out of you when your already spending 500$ or more. the sale of the ski is worth more than the 5-10 minutes it takes to mount them. Anyways dont be cheap and mount them yourdelf unless i suppose you have some old skis that dosent matter if you mess them up.
