no, the only thing it may help with is the basics, like how and where to start the drift, and what happens if you go to slow/fast etc. so pretty much like an instructional video in a way, but in no way is it gonna give you any skill at all, you may be able to control a car in forza, but in real life its 100% different.
im assuming your talking about dirt/snow drifting right? just go out, find some dirt roads, find a good section of 2 or 3 turns and do them for a long time, thats what i do. like find an s turn, and practice getting the right line and everything, and especially try to find corners that wont destroy your car if you go 5 ft off.
and some tips so you dont fuck yourself/car up, at first go into the corners SLOW, brake very early, and get to know the feel of the car, and the line through the corner first, then start to get on the gas early, like halfway between turn-in and apex, so you start your drift by the time you hit the apex and drift through the last half of the corner, this way you get to know the speed you should be at in the middle/end of the corner.
then once you have that down start to brake late, and pitch the car inwards to start the drift at or a little before turn in, work your way up to this though and take your time. this is alot more risky at first because its alot easier to clip the inside, or go way too fast and go off. and it can help a bit to use your e-brake to get the car sideways easier and quicker.
but once you have this down its much much faster around a corner, because throughout the entire corner you are drifting, and in slick conditions, the sideways angle of the car is what pulls it towards the inside, if that makes sense. so since you have little traction, the sideways angle acclerates the car towards the inside.
as for braking, on anything really brake a little before you need to, cause chances are you are gonna screw up a couple times, and constantly be checking the road surface with little imputs of he steering wheel to know what its like and how the car is going to react.
but also remember your car isnt a rally/race car, in a real rally, even a stock wrx would be in pieces, and go off i a road car and roll it or something and there is a pretty good chance you could die, go off in a rally car and flip 10 times you can expect to go away with a couple scrapes. there is a HUGE difference, so be cautious.
