my thread got deleted today, it was a ban request which worked so i think it was to avoid confusion, but i was certainly scared
 
Don't post clips of current ski movies ripped from the DVD on here people. For that matter don't post links to copyrighted material period. Do it repeatedly and go time out.
 
Flipping for profit is really hard to enforce.

I see so many threads where people are selling say... Crowbar lenses for 50 dollars. Obviously these people got them for more than that, or they wouldn't sell 5 to 10 brand new lenses for less than they paid for them.

And I see pro's and other sponsered riders selling their gear. That would be profit.

And I see people selling their products ( fleece lined bandanas) and I doubt that they are selling it at the price it cost to make them ...

It might be a good idea to post this thread and sticky it on every forum page, because I know that not everybody posts or even looks in the "Site Discussion" section...
 
People need to start actually thinking before posting a thread. It turns into spam really quickly. We're trying to keep pointless stuff from cluttering up the forums. Some guidelines that have come up recently:

If you post a thread with a title that is long and all in caps, often follwed by "!!!!!" it will probably be deleted.

If you post a thread with a title that is meaningless and has nothing to do with the content (threads titled "hahahahaha" are popular) it will probably be deleted.

If you post a thread that HAS no useful content, like title: "tom wallisch", content: "is soooo stylie", it will probably be deleted.

If you post a topic that has obviously been discussed many times before, even recently (yes, Simon DID do a double frontflip in big air, we noticed), it will probably be deleted.

If you post a thread with homophobic content in it (even "______ is GAY"), it will definitely be deleted. If you keep doing it you will probably be banned. This is being treated the same as racism.

If you say something blatantly racist you will be banned on the spot. If it's borderline, it may just be deleted and you may be warned, and banned if you do it again. If we keep having problems with you that ban will be permanent.

What do you people think we are, bots? We have to be reading the threads to catch things and we can't read everything. There's too much of it. If you see something that should be deleted, PM one of us.
 
the "what are you doing out of the kitchen" and similar jokes need to stop. it hasnt been funny for a while. if a chick posts something dumb, go ahead and make fun of em, but be original people.
 
We decided a couple of days ago that it is indeed getting to be a bit much so we're going to be on the lookout for it; PM mods if you see it. Though people getting really self-righteous and defensive about it is just playing into the reactions those kids are looking for, so keep that in mind as well.
 
absolutely. its just frustrating when a pink name has a legitimate question or something to discuss, but rather than serious answers, we get a page of woman jokes.
 
i dont think it is good to add the last rule. you pointed out a lot of detailed restrictions and rules, so idk if such a "general" rule can be applicable.
 
i came on here to see if anyone was talking about this. i'm pretty tired of the hate, particularly in the 549387 active 'tell a joke' forums. i know people aren't serious, but is the holocaust really that funny?
 
i just got banned for being on a freinds computer. they need to fix it it sucked really bad i had a bunch of sales
 
I have a quick question.... if we're not allowed to describe things as jewish, black, or mexican in regards to their individual stereotypes, why are people still allowed to call things 'gay' without repercussion?
