Fortune or eidelweiss?

ive always been a fan of edelweiss. fortunes park run is way to short with a slow chair lift the bring you to the top.

Yeah the fortune lift is slow af but i have a season's there for this year, might switch next year.

I'd also agree on Fortune just based on distance and terrain, but even though they've stepped up their park game it still doesn't compare with Edelweiss because of the shallow and short run it's on. 5-6 features a run vs 11-12 features a run.

Bump. I’ve been skiing at edelweiss for the past 8 years so I have no memory of fortune but I’m thinking about trying their freestyle program for a year. Anyone got experience with the program or know how good the park is? (I know all the parks were worse this year I mean without corona)

Lol nvm fortune is ass

edleweiss all day baby

you seem to be familiar with both

hows ur impression of their park crews?

I might join either next season and was wondering if they have any staff rules like a spin cap or dont let you build weird shit at the top every shift

While I ski locally at fortune and coach their freestyle team, for absolute freedom of building features and having full support from the mountain, definitely go work for edel if you can. Fortune unfortunately doesn't really give any support of the park, barely sets up anything close to a good jump, and sometimes just sets it up midseason to make the park skiers shut up.

Pm me with any questions you have though about either and I gotchu!

I think the problem with Fortune is nobody who currently works there who has a say about anything gives a shit about the park. So early season they do just enough snowmaking to get it open early but not enough to build nice jumps, then they prioritize literally everything else before putting groomer time into building a proper park. I think if they hired someone who actually would champion the park and put in effort it would make a huge difference. They've had people in the past who have done a decent job. I recall the jumps being pretty sweet when the park was over on Marshall. It might actually be worth looking to Fortune. I think all they need is one person with a vision for it and who is willing to be loud about it and it would really improve things.

I'd totally be down to join a new crew and kickstart shit but I'm not the guy to rally around unfortunately. When I do move up I'd only be looking for part time, plus I have no snowcat skills lol. I'm just a rake bitch but I'll keep eyes out for any promising developments

I’ve heard the edelweiss park crew is trying to get a park pass again so they have more control over the park but I’ve also heard one guy say he’s gonna quit if it doesn’t happen next year so next years gonna be interesting

Maaaan as if, this is sooo good news for Edelweiss. I remember being so bummed the year they got rid of the park pass. Smaller features and less random ppl standing in landings

Hope they buy more rails and have more than 1 actual jump next year.. they're in need of a solid medium sized dfd.. and honestly as many more tube rails (fat or skinny) as possible

currently can’t add park pass to edelweiss pass so kinda worried but whole park crew said they’d quit if they didn’t have one so hopefully it happens. Heard from the same guy that edelweiss bought some new features tho
