FORTRESS A NO GO

Fortress mountain won't be opening its hill this year due to lack of money making. All employees have been told that fortress will not open, and equipment should be taken off the hill for good starting in the fall. Nakiska will be the next to go, the resort supposedly has 10 to 20 years left before the lodge and equipment is to old. This is bad new for anyone who skis in Alberta. Fortress gets awesome snow and has great bc terrain.

It took me a couple seasons to really get fortress down. they didnt manage their snow and RCR only cares about Louise and Fernie. Fortress was an inexpensive locals hill. now, if you want to ski anything decent you gotta pay a cock sucking fortune, and wade through a sea of sweaty euros that reek of garlic and zipper heads in neon one-pieces. Fortress had amazing hiking and a BC jump spot just as good or better than off Standish at sunshine, all without the crowds, lines, long drive and expense of everywhere else. fuck RCR man. I wont give a rats ass when Nakiska goes that place is so hurt.

yeah dude it is a big upset. fortress isn't fancy but its got the goods. can't sled their though kananaskis patrol will get super pissed. but yeah its gonna be great to go hike.

it was a good hill, with good terrain, but the only way that they got any people up there was for freestyle and racing events. other than that they didnt have much. like not many families would want to go there cause it was too advanced skiing there, and they didnt clean anything inside really. even the hotel type rooms were super dirty. i think that if they managed it differently they would still be up any running
