Didnt get many responses in regionals so thought maybe u guys could help me out

My sister goes to Fort Lewis. I went up skiing with some of her friends to purg and it seemed like everyone knew everyone. Pretty friendly place

youve got purgatory as the closest. However wolf creek is like an hour and some away. silverton is too. and telluride is only a couple hours away. pretty much you will have access to the best snow in CO

Silverton and Wolf Creek are two of the sickest mountains in the US with deeppp light snow and they're both close though it can be hard to get to silverton.

Silverton is super expensiveWolf creek is epic beyond imagination on powder days. Telluride = vail with better snow because of super rich peeps (wish i was one)Purg = used to be durango mtn but ski patrol blew it up because people were breaking anklesAnd most importantly Ska beer = heaven in ur mouth even if it is from a clam shot

Yo, i'm Brian. I'm a freshman at the fort this year.

So.... Wolf Creek is about an hour and a half away and they get 500+ inches a year. It's super sick.

Purg is 25 min and it has some decent stuff passes are 350 if you get them early.

Telluride is about 2 hours and of course it's sick. This year they were offfering passes for 175 if you were 18, and hopefully they will do the same next year.

Silverton is a little over an hour away, such a gnarly mountain... it's super sick. You'll have to check the website throughout november 'cause mid-late november they have 2 weekends of boot packing (taking the lift up to go hike down through the powder fields to give them a stable base which prevents avys.) You can earn up to 4 free days of unguided skiing there. Which is between bootpacking weekend and about the first week of january. And then it starts again in april. Guides are required Jan thru April.

There's a little rope tow on the side of the mesa that the college is on that is only $3 i think if you tell 'em you're 17. And there's a little hill 20 min west of town, Hesperus, that has night skiing. It's a shit hill though.

There is some sweet back country on Molas pass, between purg and silverton. Sigh up for outdoor pursuits (OP) at the student life center. It's only 40 bucks and you get free rentals all year of shovels, probes, beacons, backpacks, tents, mountain bikes, tele and XC skis, snowboards, and other stuff. It's such a great deal.

Good choice on colleges

wow thansk +K :) are there any pass package deals cuz id like to be able to ride a few mountains but if the passes are all seperate then idk if thats possible

Nah, no pass packages, but wolf creek and purg both have college days where you can go for around $30. I'd say get the purg pass, that's what everyone has.

Im a senior at the Fort.
Get a Purg pass, if money is no issue get a purg pass and a telluride pass.
if you're a good skier go hit silvy 1-5 times a year after they get epic snows (2+ feet)
hit wolfy on $25 college and local days... usually sunday and wednesday
You won't regret coming here. have fun. ill meet you next season almost no doubt.
