ok, i screwed my comp up big style (viruses, corrupted files the lot) ive amde my system disk, now how do igo about formnatting C:/???

i have a vaugue idea but dont want to destroy my drives/BIOS/etc by deleting the wrong thing!

neither your BIOS or drive info are stored on the disk so your fine. if you can get to the command prompt type format c: (but some boot disk lock out this option. I would assume your planning on reinstalling windows so if you are putting on 2000 or XP it has an option in the setup to format the drive once you boot from the CD. hope that helps

but i screwed it up once i got windows installed again. ill send it to my local nerd instead. I'm obviously not geeky enough for these things.

its really easy, just pop in an xp cd and delete your partition on C, then create a new one and install

its all good, i got windows installed again, just gotta find drivers etc on the net and reconfigure the LAN. i dunno how i did it.
