I know there are a million threads about ron paul and the 2012 pres race... but you know what fuck it. this is our only chance the more information the better. Please everyone watch.

the video goes against exactly what Glenn Beck says at the very beginning of the video. you are the exact reason why someone like Ron Paul will never be our president and why a fuckin clown like Obama is.

Well let me be the first to say... From everything i've read and studied on the matter this video is just spot-on. I have a new respect for Ron Paul. His vision of the failings of American foreign policy, particularly as it applies in a historical context to the extremist Islamic view of America as the aggressor, match mine completely. Everyday North Americans without a proper sense of the extent of historical western meddling in middle eastern political affairs cannot comprehend this. I don't blame them for it. Just as this video shows, with its clear cut and well outlined examples, Arabs and Muslims as a whole have some very real reasons to be suspicious if not outright hostile to the west. I wrote an essay in University on Mossadeq, mentioned in the video, and that incident's effects on American-Iranian relations. More people need to watch this. It is well reasoned and historically accurate account.

I do not condone 9-11. I am not an apologist for it. It was not a conspiracy but nor are its causes outside the realm of reason.

I'm probably going to be shat on hard and I just broke my own cardinal rule of not posting in a shitstorm political thread.. but hey. +k OP, good find.

Ok, let's start with with the healthcare bill. Do you know how much of the money you pay for say, a surgery goes towards the actual medical. Privatized healthcare is taking money from both ends of the spectrum, the doctors/hospitals and the patients. A "public option" would cut this gluttony out, but people like Ron Paul won't give an inch. The reason Obama has not done that much himself is because , both republicans and democrats refuse to make a significant bipartisan effort for any major issue. Sorry for any grammar issues I'm on mobile. /rant

Threads to watch COskier ramble on incoherently about socialism, while occasionally mixing the term with communism and fascism as if they are interchangeable.

Then woozy will come in and post multiple paragraphs of statistics no one will read.

People will call poor people lazy.

People will call rich people lazy.

No one will have changed their minds. The thread will end.

i'm still unconvinced on the ending all foreign aid part. some or maybe most of it is wasteful and goes into the hands of the rich, but that money also keeps some nuclear powers (pakistan) more on our side. also most of the developed countries in the world give foreign aid in one way or another, so i'm not sure how well received our change of mind would be. someone show me why its a good idea to cut ALL foreign aid, i've yet to really read up on the argument.

inb4 woozy with a wall of data

thanks for making my point Ben. :)

also 1337. present me with one reason Paul is crazy. (and be prepared to argue your point)

whether or not they are lazy is irrelevant, the fact remains that the current welfare system does not help people become productive members of society but simply provide them just enough to remain on welfare without the chance of ever making themselves better. consider the single mother that works 2 jobs while going to school. she can only get little assistance while the single mother who is perpetually unemployed gets a check every month for doing nothing. If the system was set up to help those who were actually trying to improve their lives it would actually serve its purpose. it would also discourage those who abuse the system by making them prove that they are actually trying to better themselves. if not they need to be picking up trash on the side of the road for local govts. everyone needs something to do whether its sealing envelopes or picking up trash. everyone can contribute. no free rides. i dont care if you are blind def and mute you can do something productive.

>doesnt believe in global warming

>doesnt believe in federal medical funding for things like flu vaccines etc

>doesnt believe in affirmative action

>looks like an oaf

>"states rights"

not going to touch #1

why does the federal goverment need to fund the flu shot you get at Walgreens? Certainly there could be a local or state program to assist those not able to pay the money and get one themselves? or god forbid some private charity help people out?

AA is racist?

no argument there :)

states rights are what this country was founded on? state governments are the laboratories of democracy and allow screwups to happen at a small scale VS a huge one

If I was 18 I would probably vote for Ron Paul, I am however older and wiser now, and see what a kook he is. Utter political slime ball piece of dog shit, with the foreign policy of a 15 year old. Guy is not anything like he is portrayed to be. He consistently has earmarked spending for his districts added to 'must past' bills, and than makes a show of voting against them on the floor.

His foreign policy is the equivalent of saying fuck you too all our allies, and leaving them out in the cold. He will essentially ruin most of the United States favor with our allies for years, years when we may want some one on our side in a global issue.

The fact is, the planet has been globalized, Ron Paul's isolation policy would have worked alright in the 19th century, and early 20th century, but have no place with a developed nation in the 21st century. He is your crazy uncle who's head is a little more then a bit off axis.

by the way, i did just pop popcorn so dont screw this up for me NS! and am happily eating it. I need to unwind after 4 hours of finance.

thanks!

IMO, some level of government should help provide some funding for the medical well being of its citizens. Most states can't afford this on their own, but a country (in good financial standing, unlike ours) as a whole can. Not saying flu shots directly, but other larger scale medically related bills.

besides, how much change could ron paul make in 8 years (if he was to win an election (HA!) and win a re-election). You can't go from 120-0 in 8 feet.

He believes in small federal government which means lower taxes. it also means those tax dollars stay in your pocket. if there is a insurance system set up where the federal gvt doesnt have a hand in it but only mandates that everyone must have insurance, simple rational thought leads a smart man to say costs would go down. anytime the federal gvt gets involved things inherently get more expensive

affirmative action is reverse discrimination and unconstitutional. secondly if you had one leg would you want to be on a hockey team because they needed a one legged man to meet a quota. If i were black id be like fuck affirmative action. all its saying is that i get a job bc im black not because i earned it

looks like an oaf.?? good argument! now you just sound completely uneducated. u need to point out physical flaws to justify your point

hell ya states rights! why shouldnt states decide things like drug laws, gay marriage and abortion. last time i checked the federal government cant make up their minds on either of the last two and have basically wasted the last 80 years trying to illiminate drugs from this country and i bet you are still within 2 phone calls of about any drug you want.

so you can take your big federal govt and high taxes and over regulation and fun with that. i would much rather live in a country where the gvt stays out of my business.

probably the same amount any other president has made in the time they were given in office. Probably less because no one on the hill seems to take him seriously

i love how everyone comes into this thread to bash ron paul but not one person who has, has even mentioned who they think would be better

I'd take it as me not wanting to get into this argument on this website. How can a guy that can not get agree with his party on what to get for lunch be expected to conduct international diplomacy?

id take it as you have no idea as to what you speak of. he is not a republican. it is simply the only way to get on the stage. if you didnt want to argue why did u enter this thread?

????

Santorum is some evangelical wackjob

Gingrich is some sleezy born again christian

Romney is mormon

If they can hate on me for me not having a religion, I can hate on them for theirs.
