For you liberals that watch NBC, MSNBC, or that hate fox news

that's the dumbest comment ever. Do I even need to respond to this?

the argument (which does not need to be discussed in this thread. I am just discussing the argument, not agreeing or disagreeing with it) is that the far left and obama have socialist ideals. Another part of the argument some people have is that they are instituting policies in this country bringing us closer to socialism. This country is not socialist right now. Obviously capitalism still exists. If we were somehow to elect a president that was straight communist(restraining myself here), everything wouldn't all of a sudden be owned by the state on his inauguration. Just because a liberal news network is owned by a private company, doesn't mean that all the liberals somehow arent socialist(if they are). Theres no connection.

Why did I just type that out.

Well If you are truely capitalist I hope you never use the Postal service or the police department or your public hospital...
Yeah and all conservatives on fox news never have used ANYthing socialized. Now lets not get into an arguement about capitalims vs socialism

Theres nothing wrong about wanting green energy. As an architecture/urban deisgn student, I strive to design buildings and communities that are good for the environment. There is a lot wrong with a company saying to americans (through a news station) that they need to support these policies, because they will make billions.

GE, General Electric for the person that didnt know, is benefiting immensely from the government. This isn't about saving the environment here. This is about money. This is an all out scam. People's tax dollars(Remember Cap and trade) will deliver billions of dollars to GE. They will get the business because their news agency is telling americans to support Obama and these policies so they can get money. GE is not in this to save the world.

My point is that there would be an outrage if halliburton was connected to fox, because fox's reporting slants toward conservativism and towards giving halliburton more business. It doens't matter what the company does. They are still putting news out there to try and influence people to support things so they can get more money.

^exactly. The liberals would be outraged. It is a two sided hypocritical arguement. Both sides are totally hypocrites

Think about it. When bush was president, conservatives praised him and liberals hated him. Now that Obama is president, the tables turned. It is a no win arguement. Whatever I say is not going to change your opinion and what ever you say won't change mine.

Oh and that post you called stupid proved my point because what I said was totally dumb and I was just trying to show what I think of your logic. But you pprobably think my reasoning is stupid so we reach an impass

dammit, people advocating free market principles and capitalism are not saying that straight capitalism works. When people talk negatively about socialism, they arent pissed the government builds their roads and hospitals. They are pissed about something like healthcare, something than in their opinion crosses the line. Its obvious people dont think roads or the postal service cross the line. I wans't saying that only capitalism is good either. Obviously we need the government to provide us with roads, hospitals, police, fire, etc.

Fuck you. We dont need an argument about socialism vs capitalism here. You need both. there. it's an argument about how much, which still shouldn't happen in this thread. There was just a thread about it anyways. No one said people on foxnews never used anything socialized. Somethings are meant to be socialized. Some are not. Some arent meant to be socialized at a national level, others state, others local.

not all conservatives praised him. He was good with some things and terrible with others. He was not a conservative in terms of spending. Man did he fuck up there.

The majority of librals praise Obama now but in one year? Who knows, he might screw up like bush.

Wow sorry for really throwing this thread off topic

why is computerizing our health records a bad thing? it would make our health care system more efficient, and if someone has to make money off it I would prefer it be a company devoted to green technology. environmentalism isn't a partisan issue, if you aren't an environmentalist you are suicidal and should seek counseling because nothing is more ridiculous than poisoning the environment in which you must live. also if you plan on skiing twenty years from not, you best bet might be to reassess your political affiliation and consider which of the two viable american political parties are trying to put regulations in place that will hopefully prevent us from completely destroying what little potential our planet still has to create snow.

also, no one said fox was owned by haliburton. fox is owned by viacomm which is owned by rupert murdoch who is notoriously a radical conservative, therefore his political interests align with those of the former administration.

The irony ECfreeski may have been referring to is that if GE is best situated and best equipped to provide services to a reformed health care system, whatever that system looks like, it will defeat its competitors bidding to provide the same services and thereby make money. Capitalism at its finest. Who knows, maybe a few jobs will be created in the process.

In all seriousness you're missing the mark with this conspiracy theory. Networks like MSNBC (and Fox, for that matter) do not present slanted coverage in order to indirectly influence policy that might in the long run make more money for their parent companies. They present slanted coverage because they have a targeted demographic they're trying to serve. By doing so they increase ad revenue, thereby making more money right now. This quarter. If MSNBC could make more money from ads by replacing Olbermann with a Sean Hannity look-alike who agreed with everything you happen to think, they would do it. If Fox could make more ad money by replacing Hannity with an Olbermann look alike, they would do it too. That's reality. You're venturing into "9/11 was an inside job" territory with this kind of thinking.

To the thread creator: Don't even bother. It's useless with liberals lol They just ignore the facts even when it's staring them straight in the face lol

Where do you get your facts?

Fox, Drudge, O'Reilly, or Limbaugh?

Malkin, or Coulter?

Mr. Rove, Mr. Cheney, or Mr. Huckabee? (funny how they're all Fox News contributors now isn't it, talk about a news channel having A FUCKING AGENDA)

You buy into this conspiracy theory yet you're saying we're ignoring facts, that's cute. Didn't mommy ever teach you not to throw stones in glass houses.

I hate the news. The point of it is to tell us whats happening, not what should be, or why. All news does it point out someone to blame for problems, they never do anything to fix the problems

the reason a lot of people like nbc is because they want universal health care, so i dont know what you're getting at.

the only reason you're republican is because you're from the south.

I hate Fox News because Bill O'Reilly is a fucking idiot, as well as every other anchor, analyst or other bullshit spewer that is on Fox's payroll. I'm not saying that all the other news stations are perfect, but Fox and CNN are definately the scum of American journalism.

FYI Fox, having a late night program with drunken assholes bashing other countries doesn't make you look reputable. Not cool

agreed. although i have seen just a few skewed stories, i think the majority or pretty well balanced, at least better balanced than most other sources.

i just felt that this was necessary to show how Bill O'Reilly is a complete tool. and its fucking hilarious.

makes me glad to be Canadian. we don't have anybody thats this bad over here.

i would say SOME shows on CNN beat the shit out of anything on Fox or MSNBC. i think anderson coopers show is pretty fair most of the time.
