For you Americans who aren't idiots... or apathetic

Vote tomorrow. I'm making another thread because this election is important. For most of you idiots saying that voting is stupid, I've noticed that most of you hate Bush and the war, etc etc. This is your chance to be a good American and change the single-party politics of Washington.

For you apathetic ones... there's still hope.

my hs had a 98.5% voting percentage for kids who voted that could. I thought that was pretty ill

Yeeep, I already voted. I like that Oregon does it by mail - makes things convenient.

man i cannot believe that people dont vote. if i was old enough i would definitely get out there and vote. it really annoys me wen people have all these opinions about the current government and elected officials and then they dont vote. couldnt get any more stupid in my opinion.

this is the first one i'm getting to vote in and i'm absolutely psyched i cant wait but i live in ny so i'm not gonna effect much since i'm voting with the majority unless i'm voting for the green party

Voting in the United States is bullshit, all day I hear commercials that give absolutely no information:

they go along the lines of "Big Tobacco is in favor of prop X, remember they lie. vote against prop X"

or "dont vote for asshole A because hes a baby killer, kitten rapist. thats right thats why you should choose asshole B"

no info about the prop, no information about asshole B.

its not about the laws anymore its about whos backing them.

most people are going to be in the voting booth, see prop X and be like ohh Chevron is for this, Chevron was more expensive then Chell I ont like Chevron ill vote against this.

presidential elections are the same thing, people dont get the candidate they agree with they get the one that their party chose (lucky for Republicans most democrats who want the governemtn to do everyhting for them are fucking lazy (thats why their democrats and want the government to do everything for them) and dont go out and vote

Why not go to a rally or two, visit their websites, talk to the candidates? Commercials are 30 seconds to get a message across, and most of these commercials (assuming that the candidate is a rep. or dem) are paid for by people and groups that HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE CANDIDATES and the candidates don't even have to OK them or even know about them.

yeah so get off your ass and do some of your own damn research dont bother with the tv ads they're full of shit just like politicians. dont talk shit about my party either biatch haha

You know what; more power to you. I'll be voting for some independents, some republicans and some democrats. It really doesn't matter what party you're supporting (NEITHER SIDE IS EVIL), it's that you're supporting who you believe in and getting out there and voting.

its ok youre not gonna be the only one just please tell me youre not a one issue decider, thats retarded and i cant respect that, but otherwise youre entitled to your opinion

"i may dissagree with what you say sir but i will defend to the death your right to say it" thomas paine (i think)

theres a drunken pirate party on the ballot. im voting for that guy. makes about just as much sense as voting for somebody because a commercial on tv.

I will admit to uneducated voting in the primaries... I voted for "Sean Starfighter" because I really wanted to have a Senator Starfighter on the ballot even though I didn't know anything about him.

Yesssssss, I love Voltaire.

I voted in the '04 Bush election and wish more of our generation would have, as well.

vote Democrat/Liberal!!!! Conservatives and Republicans ruin the world with all of their ooo we are still back in 1776 bullshit. Fuck anyone whos conservative

new rule:if you dont vote on tuesday, you cant complain on wednesday

if your not old enough to vote, dont complain and act like it affects you a whole lot

Hmm, actually the modern Republican Party (or GOP) was established in 1854 with Lincoln being the first Republican President.

Well holy shit - this is one of the most ignorant posts I have seen. The actions taking place now by our joke of a president are DIRECTLY affecting our generation. I really hope you're kidding, dude; otherwise, you have a TON of reading up to do.

not voting is just stupid. it's your american duty to take advantage of our government system and vote. i heard one kid who said he would vote only if there was some kind of reward for it, dumbass your reward is being able to choose your leader. stupid shit. and the word 'idiot' comes from a greek word literally meaning 'one who does not vote' or something of that sort. just vote if you can.

if you vote you have no right to complain. (and no i didn't mix that up)

The way I see it, regardless of which asshole we elect to whatever office, there will still be bitching. Bush was heavily favored, even though he "stole" the first election, and he was the re-elected. So now everyone that voted for him is bithing; you fucking elected him so shut up. I on the other hand, didn't vote, so I have every right to think whatever I want about Bush, and tell anyone i choose. Voting is meaningless; this country has been headed into the shitter for a long time, and the morons we elect every 4 years dont mean shit.

Everybody bitches about politicans. "They suck" Well where do they come from? they come from American schools, churches, neighborhoods, and elected by american citizens. This is our system; it's the best we can do. If you have selfish arrogant citizens, you'll get selfish arrogant leaders, plain and simple.

(Please note, that most of the above is meant to be taken with a "tounge-in-cheek" attitude, i really dont care how much you disagree)

Im only 17, but If I was old enough I would definitley vote. All elidgeable Massachusetts residents should vote for Deval Patrick, a black democrat will do wonders in the Bay state, Kerry Healey's only defense is directley attacking Deval, not a good quality. Let the gays be happily married and lets improve our taxes!

well when im 18 ill vote for the next president to abuse my new rights, bu tthen im not gonna vote cuz i just dont care. hopefully bythe time of the next presidential election i will have grown up enough to realize that it is important
