Am I crazy to send it? I’m 6’1” 160 something pounds. I need some stoke to hype me up. Suggestions of how to try it? Build a jump?

this might be the year for both of us man, i can feel it in my bones... or maybe that’s arthritis, whatever.
may the odds be ever in your favor ?

14240452:Poikenz said:Building a jump will build confidence, but honestly if you can flip off a backyard diving board you could toss it off a 20 ft jump no problem, you might even over rotate it. If you are nervous, hit the jump you would feel most comfortable doing it on and just think about what it would be like to set your flip, even just do a bit of a practice set without actually throwing it and think about the air time you have to get it around. You can be scared but as long as your brain is 100% committed you'll likely get to your feet. Like others say it's easier than a 3 once you get past the mental part of it. You got it.
14240528:casual said:Thanks a lot for the reply. Yeah, even this summer in my parents back yard, I was doing backflips off of a non-spring diving board. I think I need to get the first send out of the way and go from there.
I want to find a poppy wind lip and just let er rip.

I miss your single frame NS drawings from back in the day. Please O please make some more.
On a tangeant, Im really digging the « old skier » shots and vids users have been posting here. Id like to see more 30+ yo riders still sending it. There is a certain wholesome feeling to it

Best comment on the thread so far. haha.
I'm 34, managed a quick backie for old time's sake last season. Last time I tried a spin at 29, I ended up tearing my knee for the 4th time. (3x ACLs now and 2x meniscus spread across both knees). Figure that just keeping it to backflips from now on is the way to go so that there isn't any twisting impacts happening anymore.

I ski at Snow Summit every weekend now and the 40 degree sunny weather makes progression so much easier than it was on the east coast. I spin 3's and 5's and hit most rails, but my favorite tricks are just massive floating shiftys off of the biggest jumps in the park.
Maching into a jump, popping super hard and landing perfectly in the sweet spot to me is the best feeling you can get skiing, be it in a sunny spring park or fresh powder. No spinning necessary, just flying.

I am turning 40 in a few months. I pretty much started freeski-ing this season (skiboarded for 2 seasons before that and that's pretty much all) when I got some Line Blends. I learnt 180s, box slides (even managed a rail on my last day), trying some buttery stuff and very close to a decent shifty. I am not progressing much, but I am super happy with the way it is, plus I skied the whole season with knee and adductor problems. Goals for next year - 360s, basic rails, and to be able to butter everywhere around the mountain.

This is me. I’m 46. I do the tricks I know how to do. That’s about it anymore. I don’t feel the need to huck my meat anymore. But I’ll still send it when conditions allow.

14277033:J-Dunn said:Two things my brotha .......
1. Shin pressure, you think you got enough of it??? Doubt it man push up and in more with your pop instead of back.
2. if you set a “flat rotation” spin and start doing a Corkish slightly off axis wobble 7 ...... don’t pull out. Keep your head tucked and pray. My 9s were like that this year .... haven’t done one in 3 years sense knee surgery and was attempting them on like 30-40 foot jumps so pushing the spin pretty hard “at least for a 40 year old”. And when I didn’t pull out it went way better my man. Keeeep it in
