For Those of you who dont Steal Rental Poles...

wow. i mean ive heard of stealin rentals, not that big a deal, but stealin other peoples poles is gay as aids. espec if they are expensive. dont give skiing a bad name, let snowboarders take the rap for being inconsiderate assholes.

so, i had a pair of 'racer poles' my mother gave me for chrismas. They were USA brand or something like taht. Anyways... one day i come back... and someone has SWITCHED one of the poles with the same brand/logo/decor, but like 2 sizes smaller.

Basically some dickwad walked up, likey put his poles next to mine, same brand, and then made off with them mixed up. Talk about dumb.

But yeah, aside that- i've never had poles stolen from me. Grr to anyone who does though.

Ive never had to worry about my poles being stole because mine are bent to shit and our hills have racers galore so there are always really expensive poles surrounding mine. My advice is bend your pole a few time then straighten it in a vice, this will give the appearance of well used shitty poles!

Stealing rentals is the way to go. I just spray paint em when I get home and whenever you need a new size pole, they're always free. One time I was going to pay the $6 to rent poles and then just never bring them back but the hot girl working in the rental center said I could just take them. So basically got permission to steal them

Are you seriously worried about people stealing your poles? Where the hell do you ski, I want to make sure I never go there.

I use my slalom poles from my racing days because they're much stronger than the average pole. 5 seasons on them and still not even slightly bent, and I've definitely taken some nasty spills with them and done plenty on pole whacking.

Here is the bottom line...

Real skiers respect other skiers, regardless of perceived wealth or your own grossly mispercieved entitlement.

The comments "oh he is rich and won't mind me stealing" is complete bullshit and not proper justification.

I'll put it this way,. you steal someones ski gear, you deserve to have everything you own stolen from you. You steal my poles, I'll steal your car and your girlfriend. there is no moral difference between stealing soemthing of less "value" than something of higher "value". Those poles you rip off might be a struggeling instructor's who cannot afford another pair. Who the fuck are you to judge who is worthy from stealing from.

Skiers who steal are dirtbags! You are the scum of our sport and deserve nothing but blown acl's and suffering.

Oh, but you only steal from rental shops? But then you whine all day lond about how much a hamburger costs? W'ell guess what assclown, it is because of idiots like you stealing services that cause resorts to have higher prices.

So to those of you who ride with stolen gear, go suck a dick sideways and stay the hell off of my mountains

Lol at your bottom line b/s sir. You don't know shit about shit...

I feel minimal respect from the wealthy pricks on the mountain or in vail village. I guess that leads to your definition of "real skiers" but a huge percent of people here are traveling from south america and are not what I would consider "real skiers"

The association you made between theft and resort prices is wrong. Econ 101 tells us that the price of a supply can increase as long as there is a sustainable demand.

Two-elk lodge averages $60,000 in revenue... A day.... Selling hot dogs, hamburgers and chili to Sr. Sanchez and his family who are pleased with the convenience of eating on the mountain

"Your own grossly misperceived entitlement".... "Stay the hell off my mountains" you are funny, guessing 12 years old?

I don't steal. I don't care if other people do steal. If you are buying new/expensive poles you are doing it wrong
