in the conclusion, what is a greater point of insight? is it just generalize the paper in the last sentence?

im no english major but i always just reaffirm the introduction in the conclusion along with summarizing the main points that im trying to make.

i AM an english major, and i can help. it is to restate your thesis while slightly touching base with your major points

tough bit to get, you don't want to introduce a whole new topic and throw a complete curve ball, but perhaps you can try to reiterate your thesis from a specific, and partially new perspective. The point is to wrap up the whole paper but still give it that slight twist where the reader, if they hadn't considered this idea by now, is just give it to them

although i think it's pretty lousy to really focus on this because you don't want that curve ball. Try to find that underlying message that the reader had to read between the lines to understand and incorporate it so your message sticks with the reader after they put the paper down.

ah, the conclusion is always a stickler. but here are my suggestions

restate your thesis in a slightly different way and back it up with your other main points. present the other side of the arguement, but show how your opinion is better using examples.

present some insight on your ideas, take it to a higher level of thinking.

present something to keep the reader thinking, like a rhetorical question.

make yourself seem smart by explaining something about your subject like irony, paradox, whatever sounds intelligent and philisophical. just make sure it makes enough sense to be acceptable.
