Like I said, I agreed with your sentiment. However, most people are being quite civil, save the few. But when you push that hard with aggressive legislation, you will get some backlash, and if that means anger from people, so be it. I find it far from childish for the majority of people. For some of the fringe who are truely asinine, they're certainly childish. But you're being equally dimwitted by labeling the whole opposition on that extreme minority.
It would be so easy for me to say.... oh with the WTO riots that happened here in Seattle in '99, which comprised of extreme left/anarchists, that all liberals and their agendas are crazy because of those whackjobs. But I, and most, acknowledge that they are fringe, and not a representation of a larger, more civil cause.
Or when some TV station showed some lady from who the fuck knows where saying "Obama's gonna pay my mortgage:" I could classify all his supporters as dumbasses because that woman believed in something far from reality. But instead, you can just push that aside and understand that she was an idiot. Even if there were hudnreds of clips of the same belief, in the end, you can understand that the majority do not believe that.
Likewise here. Most of the extreme mob-like action is from extreme fringe groups, like the cunts under the leadership of Larouche (and that was a TINY showing in NH). Otherwise, the main true asshats are few and far between, and most aren't even as bad as you, or matthews (to name a recent jackass) would make them out to be. when you actually consider the massive amounts of people trying to voice out to their political representatives, it is, as I said, an EXTREME minority.
And once again, it isn't just conservatives who are opposed to this legislation. Hell, I'm just a moderate (only voted for 1 republican, and 5 democrats in '08) and I find this whole thing annoying, tiresome, and a gross overstep by the government.
