For the Haters: Go Pro

ok im not talking about the quality of the footagge...uhh nevermind.....the gopo is amazing all you guys are mad cool and steezy wih ir gopros....there

then what the hell are you talking about?

and i don't need you to tell me i'm mad cool and steezy. that's not what i'm trying to accomplish by buying a gopro. i want to fuck around with it, i want to learn to edit well, and i want to watch myself progress and be able to show my friends and family what i'm doing. if you want to be a punk bitch an mock me, get the fuck out.

alright, let me make this clear, I am not mocking you or saying the go pro is bad in any way. I was wrong and i bit harsh to say that people who use them are gaypers in the park. So if i offended you in any way im sorry.

NOW, I am NOT in any way saying the go pro's quality is bad, it is amazing, I have one, the camera is awesome! I use mine on a pole in the park because I (my personal opinion) think that the video( not quality, just what your taking video of) doesn't look good in the park! Like i said you cant see the style, or really tell what trick it is on jumps, you can really just see their spinning. Now yes a little bit of it is cool now and then when doing flips and stuff, but entire edits of just POV stuff get boring. In powder i think it's cool because you can actually see what is going on and see the terrain exct......it is just my opinion and yes i was too harsh earlier and didnt think it would spark such an upset, so Capernacuz and Benit + others, im not trying to be a punk or anything

Is that clear enough?

and i tried to explain to you that using a pole mount isn't always an option, which clearly went way way way over your head. a majority of the time, i am skiing alone. partly because i venture to different mountains where i don't know any locals, and partly because i'd rather be skiing whenever possible then be stuck in boston during the winter. you're clearly not comprehending that my only option is now to... 1) purchase a gopro 2)open package, assemble parts 3)peel the sticker of the 3M curved mount 4) attach mount to my helmet 5)place camera in mount and 6) record myself skiing. do you understand, now? that's my only option. i don't have any other choice.

i see where your coming from, and yes it went over my head, and like i said im not and mean no disrespect, and i agree with you that it is the only option sometimes......but just for an idea, JUST putting it out there, the black mount that it came with in the box, just screw that onto and old ski pole an you have a pole mount! anyway i see where your coming from, i guess it all depend on what kind of edit you want in the first place....i believe we have come to a understanding with no hard feeling (no homo)

not understanding what!? i was just trying to be nice and tell you how to make one! it was just an idea! w.e man i tried to explain but I UNDERSTAND ur opinion and that it is your only option

i'm not talking about opinion, i'm talking about functionality and convenience. i'm telling you that i can only really use it via helmet mount, but you continue to insist that a pole mount is better, to which a respond that i can not use a pole mount because i generally ski alone, to which you respond that i should make a pole mount. good lord.

ok i did not insist, and it is convenient for me to use the pole mount, BUT for other's i know it is for the head cam and it is my OPINION that the pole mount is better FOR PARK because i ski with people (not saying skiing alone is bad) and i like how the footage comes out, but skiing alone i totally understand how using the head mount is easier, and i agree it is very convenient to use it in pow or when not in park on the head mount

if i had the opportunity to ski with people, i certainly would. you have to understand that skiing on a college schedule is really difficult, balancing classes and the work load, and still trying to progress in skiing. plus, a majority of the kids at wachusett are absolute goons and i would never associate with them.

oo man i see where your coming from, i got some friends that are in college and never ski, props for keeping the shred alive, yeah Wachusett sucks, the people are usually awful the park sucks, i only go with my ski club there

and what business do i have skiing with pothead high schoolers that think they're the hottest shit because they can front-flip? none.

exactly man, some kids there just think the are the best, it kinda drives me crazy, not gunna lie when u show them up on something it feels pretty good haha

Both of you shut the fuck up, cgski why would you abandon your opinion like that?

I agreed with you and your entitled to your own opiniondont let other people bullshit you

i still have my opinion, i still think in the park the head cam video doesnt look good, but Benwit who i agree with that we shouldnt get into it again, makes a good point with people who ski alone or people like capernacus who just wants to do laps super fast......i think me calling them gapers when wearing it on the head cam in the park because i see so many legit gaypers who just straight and and jump the lips on the rails use it in the park as a head cam

just my .02

Just because i made this post doesn't mean that i don't use the camera whilst skiing. that being said:

I look so much fucking worse in my footage when i watch it than i think i do on trail haha

haha i feel you. i like to think i'm far more stylish than i look on camera. but, the camera doesn't lie.

i've been skiing with some of my buds lately, using a pole mount haha. when doing a follow cam sorta thing, get nice and close especially on a jump and cross under the skier while they're in the air like ski across the gap from one side to the other.

Damn kid that was pretty outrageous. Way to toss, nice edit.

I have definitely found that with the Go Pro its worth keeping shots to no more than about 30' in distance, and unfortunately for us it performs best with green and blue light in the summer (ie. Trees+ Ocean stuff) still lots of fun though

I got Mine early March for my first trip out to Colorado. It is a blast to rock the GoPro because it amps everyone up and you catch everything, while seeing the tips of your skis the entire time. That being said i don't throw down too hard. I can kill it in to pow or in the trees but when it comes to park i could care less. I rock my GoPro every day because why the hell not? Everyone likes watching footy from the day and some day i will throw my hours of film into edits.

Wear em if ya got em.
