Hey guys, looking to upgrade from my beater Powerbook G4 to a new MacBook, and I'm curious if people have recommendations as to the best one for the money.
I'm not really concerned about the cost, but definitely don't want more power/expense than I need and would like to keep it under $2000.
I'm planning on buying a refurbished one, if people have any suggestions/negs/advice on that route.
As for my computer use, it's pretty standard - Internet, email, music, porn, office work, some GarageBand, etc.I have a GoPro HD and would like whatever MacBook i get to be able to comfortably make silly little edits from that...

......ok, GO!
Thanks in advance!

you can build your own, I got mine from them and they are legit, you will definitely save. I think you could get away with a regular macbook unless you have your heart set on a pro. For what you are doing it should be fine.

They have some 2.4gHz processors on there now, definitely get the highest possible. Probably want 4gigs of ram, 320 gb or 500 gb hard drive (7200 rpms if possible), Airport extreme card, Combo drive, new battery, and the rest is up to you. I got the total to be 994, I don't think the links usually work but i'll give it a shot

^This looks pretty good, thanks!
Any other people used Gainsaver and trust it? Not quiiiite 100% confident in it, thought looks legit.
But, 1337. is a fellow Ivy Leaguer and I can respect that - to you, any more specific suggestions on hard drive size, etc?

^hmmm. assumed he was undergrad. i went to Dartmouth (/claim, Berman went there) and gave him the benefit of the doubt, haha.

anywhoo, bumP?

yes, I've heard sketchy things about it but good stories as well, and my laptop is 100% legit, but it's your call
