For Lack of Better Movie

It's similar to what TGR did with Anthill films for UNREAL. Basically offering production/marketing resources and putting their name behind it. I'm sure clayton and cam still had majority of creative control. Sammy C's 2 year movie is the same way.

I know the GSS tech for TGR spent a good bit of time filming with them, so can't wait to see that level of production quality in the streets. For those of your who aren't familiar with the GSS:

embed for the lazy

but really the shots that these guys put out are the biggest out of everyone every year. they didn't just take it one step higher, they went 4 or 5 steps higher lol.

*spoiler pls

it was in the awards webcast for if3, couldn't really tell if he actually landed or not but it wasn't the same clip of him exploding in the trailer. I haven't seen the movie. I would kill 3 puppies to see it now though.

Holy. Shit. Just going to say that there were more than a few shots that made me question if it was even real. Whole movie was extremely well done! Absolute domination of all urban content put out this year. I recommend that everyone stop what they are doing (including sleeping) and watch this NOW.

yeah that was insanely rad. I would have loved to see a full segment of all of the shots that they used in the movie together, but the documentary style was also really cool. As someone who has never skied urban before but loves to watch it, it definitely gave me more insight into what goes into it

Unreal movie. Loved all of the shots in it, seemed way more cohesive of a film than any of the other stept films. It felt like to me we always see the talking heads which are usually just there for dramatic effect but theyve never done anything with a plot and really make an attempt at showcasing the when where why how of every shot. Loved it. honestly it would be the first movie I show to any non-skier just for the way it sets you up so that you can fully appreciate each shot.

So good. 11/10

Did Cam get that DFD 35 seconds into the trailer? Looks like the largest valley kink anyone has ever hit in skiing.

Not going to say wether or not he got it. All I'm going to say is we're talking Cam fucking Riley, what do you think?

Can anyone compare it to the new Level 1 movie? Really want to get it but not sure if i wanna spend $10

Less skiing overall than the level 1 movie, more urban than the level 1 movie. The shots make brower's disaster on the flat rail look cute. I liked it better than the level 1 movie.

Smoll warld and 4frnt: shaping skiing, possibly some other movies/vids, no clue on that though.

text mi the details. If there is something good there I haven't seen I'm down

One of the sickest movies released huge respect for the guys, was totally amazed with the thought, intention and passion driven within the movie. Not forgetting some of the mad tricks thrown down and into the Doc. Defo better than Level 1's "Small World" and its a must see in my opinion, as something so well thought out as that should have everyones attention and anyone who hasn't watched go watch it! Sean, Clayton, Cam and not forgetting Dylan and Todd Nice work! can't wait till next year. STOKED

about to make the purchase, how does it compare to good company 1?

Less skiing because documentary. I think you should buy it and find out for yourself.

People seriously need to ask how it compares to other movies? Its made by stept members, aka the kings of urban.

curiosity my friend, and to add on what i said let's hope it has a better soundtrack then good company ;) (just kidding) anyway its my first stept movie so i'm super pumped about it!

just finished watching. Gotta say I've been watching ski movies for so long and this one's a little different, there's been a lot of films that have warmed up to this in the past, but I always thought they focused way too much on the 'cop' scenes and breaking the law. This film touches on more of a personal level and I can totally relate to the passion they have, although it may not be street skiing. Good film, super well put together, and nothing but respect for these dudes for following their passion.

"Good company" is still mainly constructed on the "ski porn" formula (just tricks edited on music). "For Lack of Better" is a well constructed documentary with solid interviews exploring most of the aspects behind those urban segments we see every year.

If you're talking about only the level of the tricks it's totally insane, but don't watch this expecting just banger tricks one after the other. It's what you see in between the tricks that really makes this movie so good.

Just finished watching and fuck, awesome film, wonderfully put together. Definitely something you can show to other people outside the community as an explanation of what urban skiing is. 10/10, very much worth the $10
